My husband is set on the name Declan for our soon to be baby boy (pronounced Deck-len) I like it but am not yet IN LOVE with it. To be fair I pretty much picked my daughter's name which is Madeline. He likes how this name sounds and he loves that its a very Irish name which is important to him. The name means "full of goodness" which I think is a sweet meaning. I like the name Conner which also is an Irish name. Do you think I should let my husband pick the name?

can you live with it and be happy to call your child by that name FOREVER ??? if so then sure but if you have doubts let your husband know that you just can't settle on it and that he needs to start thinking of onther names...

After thinking about it for a while and reading the comments I think I just might go with the name Declan! I know I will love my baby no matter what, so for now I guess we will wait until he is born and see if this baby really is meant to have the name Declan. Thanks for sharing your opinions :)

ahhh i'm in the same boat. Where having a little girl and he doesn't like any of the names I love, and I'm not a fan of the names he loves. So right now were stuck but if you did get to pick out your daughters name then it does seem only fair to let him decide, but if you dont love it, keep on looking. Declan is a cute name and its very unique so I love it! Connor is very common. I hope you guys can come to an agreement together. My boyfriend says when we see the baby we will know for certain what her name will be, so we might just have a top 3 picked out and wait to see her!

I like that name! If you picked out the girls name its only fair to have him pick out the boys name with you having veto powers. My husband and I both picked out names we both loved for our first (a boy) so now for a girl were doing the same thing, although he's having issues finding names he loves.

I like the name Declan but I also like different names and he will most likely be the only one with that name which is neat. I would let your husband choose the name you did say you pretty much picked your daughters name. But it is your family so you both need to be happy with the name! :)
