After my first born who was really, really big I am no longer worried or surprised about my second son. They are both big boys that eat well, are superactive and most importantly very healthy. Cayden turned 10 months today and is well over 12 kg (26,5 lbs) by now. He started walking last week (without holding on to anything) so I expect that he'll barely go up in weight in the next year just like his big brother. Every kid is different and I suspect there are many that don't stick to the average growth, weight etc etc. So my advice is enjoy it all..they grow up so fast : )

My son has been 24lbs since he was 6 months. i was kinda worried at first but now hes 18 months and is now 23lbs because hes up and running and has been since 10 months. He only crawled for a week or two before he started walking.

My daughter didnt start crawling with her tummy off the floor until after she started walking and that was at 14 months but she started army crawling at 4.5 months! Her dr said that she considers that crawling! They are mobile and learning to fend for themselves and become more independant! Children and babies learn at such a different rate it is so hard to compare one to the next. I have a friend whose daughter is 6 weeks younger then mine and she was walking at the beg of her 9th month! To be honest it was hard to me as my daughters mommy to not think there is something wrong or that I did something wrong. Why wasn't mine walking that young. Nope not until 14 months did she decide to walk. I am not kidding you though by 1 year mine was saying a lot of words! Now at 17 months she says everything, litterally! She is says 3 and 4 word sentances! Hard to believe that she is such a wonderful talker! Everytime we go out people always comment on it! I should have never worried! She has always been very smart but slower then some physically. They learn at such a fast rate anyways but not until they are ready!... I think your lo is doing wonderful! No worries!

ya, their weight gain gets a lot slower as they get older...im assuming at least in partial due to being more active..:)

tomorrow robert will be 9 months and he is finally crawling. and scooting like a mad man in his walker now! bruised heels from getting rammed into lol. i cant keep him still. he still weights 21 lbs. i guess the running around in the walker helped him lose weight.?

haha my son was/is the same way. he is now 25 pounds 2 feet 6 inches and almost 9 months. he eats any table food i do now ( as well as food i dont like cuz im picky...) and walks along the side of everything and crawls very quickly all over the house :D lol and he did not crawl long before he started walking along the sides of things ( he also did the gets up on hands and feet thing instead of hands and knees)

Patrick will be 8 Months and 3 weeks tomorrow and he just walked holding onto the furniture it was a real moment and I was so chuffed that both me and her daddy saw him x he now weighs 22lbs 9oz and is doing full commando rolls but he still wont crawl he shuffles and pushes himself backwards

My daughter is 20 months and is so much different than my son. She crawled, then pulled up, then walked. My son is 8 months old and has been in the same diaper size as my daughter for months. He's at least 25 pounds now and also does the army crawl, pulls with one arm and one leg mainly. He's turned over since I can recall (before 3 months) and for the last month pulls up and now walks holding on to stuff. He's a handful, never wants to be constrained, loves to be moving and holding or grabbing everything. Unfortunately, he wakes at least once a night for a bottle. Hopeful that now that he's starting to eat more strained and solid food that will get better.

My son is huge too, at 6 months he was 21lbs 6ozs, then we had go back at 7month, and he was 23lbs, im sure hes over 25lbs now//
Dr thinks hes too big, i was scared his bigness is gunna hold him back from crawling and stuff, but finally he has started the up on his hands and kneees rocking so hopefully he fully crawling soon :)

My son will be 9 months old in 2 days and he weighs 31 lbs. He is a big boy. He hates being on his stomach, but loves to walk. He can't walk by himself yet but he is pretty steady on his feet while holding on I give it probably another couple months until he starts walking by himself. Every time someone sees him they cannot believe his is only almost 9 months, they think he is much older. he started eating solids when he was 5 months and actually was told by a dietician that he less then most babies his age. So I think I may have a future football player on my hands!

My son is 8 months old and weighs 20lbs. He started crawling and eating solids at 6 months. He started standing and walking with furniture at 7 months. He's now trying no hands, I'm sure he'll be walking soon. He has quite the appetite too. Growing up way too fast!

Patrick was 8 months last saturday and weighs over 22lbs he refuses to crawl and pushes his heels into the floor to stand up. He can stand up holding onto people and decided to walk holding onto my legs and daddy's fingers today. He was 9lbs quarter ounce when born and 12 days late he's gorgeous not fat but long - but definatley chunky he was on food at 4 months and hungrier baby milk from 2 n half months he has a head that needs a 18 to 23 month hat to fit it and wears 12 - 24 month socks - crazy - he's been in 9 - 12 month clothes for over 2 weeks now - personally his daddy and I believe he will be walking by 10 months. My next door neighbours daughter will be 2 yrs old in august and he is inches off her height - rugby player or what!

Both my boys started crawling at an early age. My oldest did the half crawl, one knee down, one foot pushing, then just got up and started walking around 6 1/2 months. My youngest is barely 8 months, about 18 1/2 lbs., and is still trying to walk, but he can fly crawling across the floor :) Both boys were/are daredevils and both seemed determined to bull through any obstacle instead of seeing if there's an easier way. But I wouldn't trade a single moment of it for anything!

My son is little bitty then! He turned 8 months on the 10th, and he weighed 14.6 then, but a more recent weigh in he was 16 even. he was full hands and knees crawling at 6 months, scooting around or army crawling at 4 1/2, 5 months. Way earlier than my 2 year old did. He started at 7 months. My baby is also standing on everything! And walking along the furniture. Hes starting to climb onto stuff. I walked in on him the other day and he was sitting inside of the clean laundry basket! its insane how fast hes developing! I have a feeling he will be walking by 10 months, maybe before. He already walks with finger assistance, and with toys. I dont know if im ready. this is our youngest of 3 and will be our very last little baby! And hes moving the quickest of all of them! It makes me sad!

Hi!! This is my first post :-) My bubba boy weighed in at 10.5 kgs, which is a smidge over 23 pounds at 7.5 months. I'd hate to see what he weighs now, he's 3 days away from 8 months. I use him for my bench presses LOL. He's only just started moving around, but has been rocking on all fours for quite a while, but not quite getting the whole coordination thing to move. He's doing lunges to propel himself forward and a lot of helicopter spins, quite funny to watch as he gets quite far. I think he's gonna be a walker too, he been bearing weight since a very early age and van stand holding onto things. It's pretty scary to think that they'd be mobile so soon. But it's absolutely gorgeous, can't wait for my little man to walk next to me holding my hand. At the same time though, I dont want him to grow up too quickly. Guess that's not gonna happen...8 months gone like that. Don't worry about bubs he's doing what's right for him, whether he walks or crawls doesn't matter in the scheme of things, as long as he's happy and healthy...sounds like he's coming along great guns ;-).

good.... my son is almost 8 months and tries to crawl but prefers to stand up by holding on to bed and shelves... every1 says he will walk rather than crawl....

Leave him alone? Our son did the 'army crawl' for a week, and learned to favor one leg pushing over the other.. then started to pick his butt up fully in the air.. learned to use his hands instead of his elbows....... it's a process. I'd say he's perfectly on track and not to worry. Our son eats an insane amount too but no one has ever said he's fat. he's over 30 inches tall and weighs 27lbs at 7 months old. They'll learn on their own - be grateful he is crawling period, that's a necessary and good learning phase important for brain development. Let him scoot, and crawl however he wants.

About 1 week after he was starting to crawl more instead of scoot around, he started pulling himself up on furniture. So I bet your son isn't far behind.

we just got a toy for him to stand up with that has lockable wheels. but its funny because in his walker, he only walks backwards..

Some babies do that, skip crawling (or at least, traditional crawling) and go right to walking. My daughter (8 months tomorrow) didn't eat solids til 6 months. She just didn't want them, but my son ( 3 in aug) started cereal at 3.5 months and ate like he was a pig!! He started walking just before 10 months. My daughter is already starting to walk with the help of a walking toy!! They grow sooo fast!!
