I have really bad sinus problems & always have, but pregnancy is making it worse. My doctor said I can take regular Sudafed, only problem there is not a "regular" Sudafed. All of them are maximum strength and things like that. I bought the triple action for sinus headache, pressure, and congestion. I only took one pill and went to sleep. It took the headache away but Im still extremly stuffy and am leary of taking another pill. Have any of you had this problem? What pills do you recommend that you have taken while pregnant? Thanks for any input :]

I second the Vapor rub but put it on your feet with socks on. Also the Neti pot same as suggested but different name really works. I also second the local honey too. I have got sinus problems only in this pregnancy and drinking my tea with local honey fixes it. Although it's only minor for me.

I use Vicks vapor rub. It doesn't really help with the headaches much, but it helps clean up my sinuses so I can breathe at night. I take Tylenol for the headaches and try to sleep them off, which usually doesn't actually work, so I don't suggest it. Also, if your sinus issues are allergy related, if you could find some locally farmed honey (like, same county is possible, local butchers shops usually have it) a tablespoon of that helps get rid of them.

Thanks so much for the input. I didnt know about the Sudafed thats why I only took one pill. Its the first pill besides my vitamins I have taken since pregant because I dont want complications, but man that was the worst headache I've had in a long time! That does sound gross but if it helps I will try it! Thanks again! :]

I reccomend Claritin. Sudafed has pseuphedrine, which may act as a stimulant later on (pre-term labor is no bueno). The BEST thing I have found is a hot pack on my face for about 10-15 minutes, followed by a Neil Med sinus rinse kit. You can get the whole kit (which is a bottle and 30 packets of rinse powder) behind the pharmacy counter for like 11 bucks I think. It is really gross...you mix the powder packet with warm, distilled or previously boiled water. You put it in the bottle and squirt 1/2 in one nostril and half in the other...over the sink, cause it's messy. It is really wierd and disgusting, but I swear you'll lose ten pounds in your head, and your pressure will be totally relieved. You have to breathe through your mouth while you do it, but it feels soooooo good!
