My baby never just wakes up happy does yours?

He always wakes up crying. Never just opens his eyes, looks around la-la-la. Just immediate crying. He's 11 weeks old. He is only just now beginning to coo to himself while on the play mat.
I don't run right in when he starts crying (most of the time it's a false alarm and then goes back to sleep) but after a little bit, he's wailing! He wants to be fed right away. And it doesn't matter if it's been his 3 hour nap or his 8 hour night.
Any ideas?

My son woke up screaming every time (nap or night) for the first 2.5 years. He's now almost 4 and still sometimes wakes up essentially crying. No idea why. It's just the way he is!! My new little girl wakes up happy, and is generally much more relaxed and content than my son ever was. He's a sweet boy, no real issues. It's just how they are!!

First off, an 8 hour night?!?! OMG, I am so jealous! My 10 week old has never slept more than 4.5 hours at night in his life and most nights only sleeps 3 hours at a time.

Anyway... I've always heard that when a baby has had enough rest then they'll wake happy. So, if he's crying when he wakes up then he's not ready to wake up yet... BUT, that was NOT true for my first two kiddos. They always had plenty of sleep as infants and would still wake crying. So, I think it could be a personality thing too. My 10 week old DOES wake up happy a lot, but he really doesn't sleep any better than my other two did... he's just a more content kiddo. So, I'm not sure why some kids wake happy and others do not...
