I am 21 weeks pregnant with my first baby. And I have not felt him move yet. Should I be concerned??? I had an ultrasound a week ago and we saw him moving on the screen and she said everything looked good. But I have not felt him move. This is my first pregnancy so I am not sure how it should feel.

Sorry it took so long to update. But yes I have been feeling him move now. i started feeling him at about 23 weeks. I feel him many times during the day. And sometimes it's kind of annoying lol. Especially when I am trying to sleep, lol! But thank you everyone for helping me to keep me calm and not stressing. I really appriciate it.

I dont think you should be worried about it. My friend never felt her baby until she was 23 weeks along (I started to recognize my baby boy kicking at 17 weeks and it's my first pregnancy) and her doctor said everything was fine. She never believed him although she had her 20 weeks scan done and the baby looked amazingly active. There're many factors that can affect his/her movement; your body structure, how the placenta attach to your womb, baby's size etc...
Remember, once he starts kicking he will never stop until you pop him out (sometimes he does annoy me a lot LOL)

no i don't think you should be worried the baby could be turned to the inside and you just can't feel the kicking. give it some time and maybe one day it will turn a sertain way where you can feel it. for me
For i had twins the first go and just one this time around and for me it feels like someone is poking you very quikly and running away. sometimes harder than others.

hey Sarah, dont worry at all, i didnt feel my second baby properly until 22 weeks, and they say you feel it really early second time around, now at 24 weeks its like there is a football match going on in there some days!
my first pregnancy i remember feeling it really late, it sucks because you read things everywhere where people say they feel it at 16 weeks etc... and causes people like us who probably have the placenta in the way, or lots of water near our skin and dont feel as much, and makes us a bit panicky.
Hope you are getting loads of kicks now, and remember a good drink of ice cold water usually does the trick if you havent felt baby in a while!

No, you shouldn't be concerned. It's harder to feel the first movements with your first pregnancy because you really aren't sure what to expect. You might have felt them and not realized it. Until the baby is bigger, the movements really could pass as gas or an upset tummy--they are that subtle and faint. It's almost like little bubbles or butterflies floating across your belly. With my first pregnancy, I was very uncertain whether it was the baby or indigestion!!!

I am 22 weeks pregnant with my second son and I've been feeling the baby move for about a month. Just recently have the movements become stronger and I can sometimes see my belly move.

Since you just had an ultrasound and you saw the baby moving, then I would definitely say you have no reason to be concerned. If you wanted to ease your nerves a bit, try encouraging the baby to move. Drink really cold water or even something with some sugar or caffeine and then lay down and wait. That usually gets the baby going. It's easier to notice the movements when you're lying down and relaxing. The first time you feel it, you will be amazed! It is the most wonderful feeling in the world!!!

Haye Sarah im Faith. I think you are and your baby are absolutly fine. If your doctor hasn't mentioned a reason for concerned then there is nothing to worry about. :) Im 22 weeks with my 1st and just started feeling my little girl move, and she moves ALOT now! But everyone is different also every pregnancy is different. There has been women to have a full term pregnancy and never feel their baby move and everything be just fine. So try not to worry yourself too much, its not good for you or your little one. Best of wishes to you! :):):)

Im also 21 weeks as of today :) and this is also my first pregnancy. He is moving alot but i only really started feeling it strongly these past two weeks. But every baby is different just like every pregnancy. So as long as the doctor said it ok, and the heart beet was good then i dont see what the problem is

Agree with the others. Placenta location will certainly make a difference, as well as the temperament and position of the child. This is my 3rd child and the first time I've had a placenta in the front... and the movements are certainly muffled from what I remember from my previous two pregnancies.

1st pregnancies are always different. It may be that your baby is positioned farther back towards your spine. With my 1st I didn't feel her till I was between 26-27 weeks and that's around the same time I started showing.

With my first son I rarely ever felt him move and when I did it was very slow movements, after he was born he was a very mellow baby. With my second I felt like he never stopped moving. It all depends on the baby, I would some times push on my belly to get my first to move as even at the end of my pregnancy he probably only moved 4 times a day that I could feel. If you are really worried about it you can call your doctor.

I didn't feel my daughter move until 21 or 22 weeks in. It is perfectly normal. Also do you know the position of the placenta? If it is forwards (towards the front of your belly) it will make the movements harder to feel because there is extra padding there. The baby could also be more facing towards your back which will make it more difficult to feel also. :) If you have any worries you can always call your doctor.
