When was your son completely potty-trained?

My two-year old doesn't seem even close. Does anyone have a boy under 3 who is potty-trained?

To the horror of my family, two boys, one completely no accidents ever right at 3, the other, no accidents ever one month after three. All done on their own with no intervention or coaching by us.

My son was fully potty learned just after turning 2. He couldn't say anything but mama, dada and yes. He did everything on his own as I refuse to push a child. It makes things worse.

I don't have a son, but I work at a child care, and have been on hand in potty training many boys and girls. Our rule of thumb is that if your child cant speak the sentence "I need to potty" or some variation of that, then he/she isn't ready. That being said, we potty trained a boy at 3...and another was only ready about 2 months before he turned 4, they really do wait untill they are ready. Typically we have seen that the longer you wait, the faster it will be when you potty train.

Each child is different and boys seem to take longer than girls. My first son was trained bu 20 months but my second son was almost 3 before he was trained.

My son was actually almost 4 when he potty trained. That was when he was ready. My daughter was 3. Every kid has a different timeline as to when they will be ready. They are now teenagers and are no worse for wearing diapers a little longer than my neighbor's kids did. :)

My son was potty trained right at 2, but I work from home and would basically let him run around the house naked. I've heard a couple people who did that and their boys were potty trained faster. (It was just my son and I at home all day though) so I probably wouldn't recommend that if you have other little ones around. :-)

My son didn't potty train till he was almost 3. No matter what I did to try and get him there, he just wasn't ready, till HE was ready. And it's looking like his sister, who will be 3 next month, is going to be the same way.

My son is 2 years old now and is getting there...slowly. He has his good days. I agree with Misty, I think every child goes at their own pace.

I think my son was right at 2 when he was actually "ready" he started aobut 18months but he would hide when it came to #2. All little ones are different though and go at their own pace.
