Hey Margaret-As long as you can have babies, you are never too old! However, everyone's body and health history is different. Age is just ONE factor, and oftentimes not as big a deal as some make it. As long as you talk to your healthcare provider, get your prenatal care and stay on top of things, you will be fine. My experience, any woman can have any complication at any time at any age. I had my first and only child at 37. When you are over 35 you will be subjected to the ultrasounds and genetic testing; and there are a few of the more indepth genetic tests you can elect as to whether or not you want to have them.
FYI- I will be 43 on Nov. 21, 2012, so my son is about to be 6, come December 2012. I will be married on Dec. 21, 2012. In a couple of years we plan to have a baby. I just started birth control because I do not want to get pregnant right now; I Know for a fact that I am more fertile now than ever. (Yes ma'am). Anyhoo, don't know your time period for pregnancy, but I have already informed my ob/gyn of my plans in a couple of years.
Best to you!
