Portland Area Mom/Baby Groups?

Hi, iam a stay at home mom with two children one is 3 and the other is 9 months. Looking for a group or some friends. :)

I am a new mom and looking for some mom friends. I am in the Beaverton/Aloha area and would love to get out with some people and do some fun things. Please let me know if there is a group that is fun out here or if you know where I can find one.

I met some really great moms through meetup.com.  I highly suggest it and there are all sorts of different groups for different types of moms.  I was in the Vancouvers Moms group and loved it.

Oh, those are really fun! They also do one at the Cedar Hills Rec Center, which Henry and I have gone to. Theirs is Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 9am to 11:15am.

Katy are you in the THPRD district? they have an indoor playground at the conastoga rec center everyday. The fee is 2.25 (super cheap) I will be heading there on Wednesday around 10am if you want to meet up.

Anyone else too is invited, but I don't know how much it costs for out of district.

Stephanie, what part of town are you in? I really am thinking of starting a group myself... I'm in the NW area, close to St. Vincent's hospital... I also recently looked into La Leche League meetings and it seems they have some fun meetings for moms and babies to attend...

Oh! If you start a group or find one, please let me know! My husband and I just moved to Portland in December. We're expecting our first baby in May, and we would both LOVE to meet parents and parents-to-be in Portland.

Hi Brittney. I just asked for and received the calendar of events and information for the Portland West Hills area MOMS group. It is for zip codes 97201, 97205, 97210, 97221, 97225 and 97229. Are you in one of those? If so, I can forward you all the info. The lady who sent me the info said they allow you to try out an event or two before becoming a member, which is only $27 per year. The calendar has a lot of items on it, and they look like a lot of fun!

i am a SAHM in SW portland also have an 8 month old.  i'm interested in what you come up with.  we are currently taking gymboree and music classes, but i haven't really hung out with any of the moms/babies we've met there.

I am inner-ish westside, if there is such a thing. :) We do take a class through the Tualatin Valley Parks and Rec and we really love it and have made friends with some moms and babies there. I highly recommend taking a class if you find something interesting. Our sons are around the same age! I use the Cedar Hills Rec Center, but if you live on the east side membership there is a lot more expensive than if you're in the neighborhood...

you can also look at the parks and rec website.  There are some fun classes they can do.  My son just turned 9 months and it looks like I will be getting laid off so maybe we can start something together if we can't find anything.  I am inner-ish eastside - how about you?

I haven't done the research necessary yet on playgroupsusa.com that Christina mentioned. What part of town are you in? When was your baby born? We could start our own... I do go to a mommy & me yoga class and a couple other moms and I were thinking we might start meeting outside of class. Our kids are all around 8 or 9 months. My baby is my first, too. The other two moms have one or two other kids. We're all on the West side of town, near Cedar Mill/Bethany/Forest Heights area... Welcome to the area!!!!!!!!! And congrats on your baby! :)

I just read on urbanmomma's they annouced this week they are closing the toddler room and turning it into a computer room :( so sad!

playgroupsusa.com is a good way to get a group togather have you been in Sip and Kranz I think it is in NW area. That is a great place to meet, they have a toddler room and are next to a park with a fountain.
