Looking for a group

I see your from NJ! I had a spiral scouts group going for a while but died out because lack of parent interest. Hands of Change has some wonderful child friendly rituals, but not all the time. They are probably one of the most child friendly group there is. But the child friendly rituals are all open rituals not closed. You should also join the yahoo group for new jersey pagans to keep up to date on events. I am from Central NJ.

Have you checked out Witchvox? The Witches Voice website lists people from all over the world.

I'm one of the many organizers of little events in my city though have receded to the background in the last few years. We have a community brunch, monthly meet n greet, sabbat gatherings publicly offered by several groups.

There are covens in my city - I am not a member of any of them though have worked with the leadership of one of them to create a teaching group based on their "marigold" novice training program. There are many things you can do to bring other pagans out of the broom closet just by finding local e-groups and emailing a coffee moot or monthly community brunch. It isn't "your" event and you have to present the idea out there as if it was something out there for the community to enjoy.

I'm in Ottawa, Ontario where the Ottawa Pagan Conference was started in 2002. It's spin-offs have included the Toronto Pagan Conference, the Montreal Pagan Conference (where they also started a brunch because of us in Ottawa), and Gaia Gathering, the National (Canada) Pagan Conference.

There's lots you can do that don't put you in a "leadership" position, but you do get people in your community out of hiding and back to communicating with each other.

Ottawa also has an open group who celebrates the high holidays and members are encouraged to put forth rituals for those high holidays that fit within the mandate of the temple. It's not a coven and it's moderately private (new members must be brought in by paid members and have to attend 3 sabbat rituals before they can become a paid member).
