Emma Barry-Cox, you are the best mom, best friend and best example I have read in a very long time. Thank you..... reposting her reply:
Yes and if you want to ride in our car you will wear yours as well.
the car will not move until everyone is strapped in and as my kids well know you do not take your arms out of your straps ect or the car will be pulled over as soon as it is safe to do so and we will stay there until everyone is strapped in again.
i will not get in a car unless there is a seatbelt for me and everyone in the car and they put them on.
and you better where it if you are sitting behind me in a car as im not really concerned for your safety but my own as i don't want to be crushed as you fly forward and hit the back of my seat.
Call me anal i don't care !!! ive lost to many people in car accidents that would of survived if only they had there's on !!!

But do you make sure all your children are correctly strapped in as well??? I see 90% of parents everyday do not strap their children in. They only strap themselves in. Child abuse!!

I wear my seatbelt 99% of the time. The only time I don't is when we are at our cabin that is on 70 acres and we drive up or down the driveway which is 2/3 of a mile long. And even then, I don't wear it when I'm in the passenger seat but if I'm driving, I put it on because it beeps for too long and drives me nuts (LOL).

Always. I even put it on when I have to move the car from one side of the street to the other. Not because I am anal, but because it is a habit: close the door, put on seatbelt, start the ignition, release the parking break, step on the clutch, put in gear.

Yes - it's automatic and the first thing I do when I get in the car!! Like Kathy said - in Australia it's law, so I have never known any different :)

In Australia wearing seatbelts is mandatory.

Yes always. I even ask everyone in the car if they have theirs on, even if it's not my car!

Yes, I always do. I'm technically not a fully licenced driver (the drive test place has been on strike for awhile), so I try to keep the list of my infractions as small as possible.

Yes. It is the first thing I do when I get in my Expedition. Besides, the seatbelt warning goes off like crazy and won't stop until you put it on. :)

I absolutely NEVER wore it until I had my son. Now I wear it all the time (even when he's not in the car) because HE has to and I don't want to ever forget to wear it in front of him.

Yes I do. My Pastor's wife was killed just 50 ft from their driveway in June 2008 (not long after their 30th wedding anniversary, too!). She always wore her seat belt but had a tendency to take it off if she was right down the road from her house. She did the same thing that day, took off her seat belt since her house was right there, and their neighbor backed right into her and killed her. Fatal injuries could have been prevented if she had kept her seat belt on, so that is always in my mind as a reminder even though I have always worn my seat belt. But she was in a Durango and the neighbor was driving a dump truck (they were doing some kind of construction on their house), so he wasn't really able to see her as he was backing out of his driveway.

The only time I don't wear mine is when I stop at the end of our driveway to get the mail. When I get back in the car to go up the rest of the driveway, I don't bother buckling up for that. But I'm usually just put-putting along, and it's not like there's any other traffic to deal with.

Generally I do, but I was in the backseat of my truck and the middle seat belt is broken and there is no way I could possibly fit under it so I did not have one on that time :( One other time in the back seat (again middle) of my old car, it was too hard to try to manage it between both the car seats...The middle position of the back seat, probably on of the worst places (next to the front) to not be buckled :( But hey, we got rid of that car, and we don't usually have more then 4 in the truck anyways so no one should have to sit in the back middle seat :)

Yes, I always wear mine. And if people ride in my car with me I always make them wear it too.

I never did until I was about 17. Now its a habit. I feel uncomfortable without it. Probably all those accidents haunting me.
Very nice commercial.

Yes, always. It is a habit now, I can't even move my Jeep 5 feet without buckling up.
