I actually worked at a photolab and we were allowed to print photographs of children in the tub,,,cute pics with baby bums showing etc. We were not allowed to print pictures suggesting any kind of abuse, suggestive posing or adults in the nude...

I think the reason your photographer won't allow naked baby pics is the same reason photo developers won't develop them. There are too many perverts out there and no one wants to be involved in something that might end up being scandalous/illegal/hurtful to the child. Its a zero tolerance issue to protect children from crazies.

I think it completely fine as long as their genitals arent showing, just our of respect for the child. If you have befriended a perv and you post a pic like that, its a little scary, but even a pic of a child dressed can cause a perv to become interested in your child, so I dont think it really ups the chances of danger that way. As long as your careful who you add on facebook, and you dont post your address, I think your pretty safe.

I think pics in the tub are okay as long as you can't see any frontal nudity and I am okay with pics of my sons little bums. I don't post them on facebook often but I enjoy photography and sometimes take very nice tasteful pictures of my babies (under 12 months) similar to what I believe Jennifer was looking for from the portrait sudio for their baby books etc.

I wouldn't put anything up on FB because whether you approve it or not people can steal you pictures and use them for whatever they want.

I have one pic with my little mans parts online FB for my family who doesn't live anywhere near us. however the picture is of his first bath at 5 days old... After that there are no shots without at least a diaper.

I don't know why that is. I took my son to a photographer that worked out of her house and would travel to mine, or meet at a park. Maybe they don't want to be responsible for spreading disease or sickness. I would get in touch with a local photographer that isn't part of a corporate photo company.

I have a related issue for people to ponder: why is it that photo places will not take naked pictures of babies? I went to a picture appointment for my son when he was 12 weeks old. I wanted to do a naked photo of him sleeping with a black background, the said they could not do that and he would have to wear his diaper. What's up with that? I am the only one with access to the photos they take b/c they delete them after I place my order.

I think it is fine, as long as you aren't showing the baby's private region. As babies (under a year old) it is cute to due nude pics, but they are tasteful and not showing anything. I don't see anything wrong with tub shots for older babies/young kids, again as long as the junk isn't showing.

I do take pictures of my daughter in the bathtub and ofcourse we took pictures when she was born, I think there's nothing wrong with it. I only post photos on facebook of her in a diaper minimum, there's too many pervs out there to post naked pictures, even if it's only your friends that can see it. Plus, you never know who will report you to CPS or something stupid for putting up a picture of your kid in a bathtowel or something...I don't even want to chance it.

I think it depends. We have some pics of our son in the bath tub, there very cute, however I don't think anyone should post any pic of there child naked online. There are too many perverts out there I would rather they not have access to those types of pics.

I take bathtime shots but havn't posted them online except one where I placed a flannel over his little boy's bits, because I'm very wary of paedophiles and if it's illegal to go around in public naked then its inappropriate to put naked baby pictures online.

Because all my family live in Canada I put a lot of photos of my children there which explains why I include tub photos. I just like to share the pictures of my kids with my friends and family I never see and some of the tub shots are the best.

I'm from Canada and I have naked pics of my son. There's no way I'd post them anywhere on the internet but family have seen them. I plan to use them as bribery when he gets older and they're also great for embarrassing him in front of future girlfriends LOL (just joking).

As long as the front isn't showing I don't mind them, I don't see a problem with butt shots. I have some naked shots of my boy on facebook, but like I said no frontals.

We live in the US. :) The only full naked pics of my girls are from RIGHT after they were born. I would never post them online. My ex's grandma wanted a pic of their chubby little baby butts and it annoyed me SO much that he took one for her....



I have taken tub pics of my son, but you can't see the vital parts. :) I posted pics of my nephews (and my kids and my cousin-in-law) from their kiddie pool. My almost one year old nephew was naked, but I cropped the pics to not show anything. Any pics I couldn't crop... I wouldn't post.

Also just wondering what country you're in to see if that effects your opinion. I live in Australia and my Aussie friends and myself are comfortbable sharing pictures of our childrens bare bottoms, I have noticed however that my Canadian friends don't have any nude pictures of their children. I think it's ok to see bare bottoms of kids under 18 months or so, but I've only put pictures up of my bubs under 6 month bottom.

I think as long as the kid's junk isn't showing, it's okay. We've posted pictures of our baby in the bath, but only from the waist up. No bum photos, and definitely no full-frontal!
