'Octomom' Nadya Suleman unveils spay and neuter sign for PETA on her front lawn...

Nadya Suleman, the 34-year-old mother of 14 whose delivery of eight babies conceived through in vitro fertilization last year earned her the nickname "Octomom," has made good on her promise to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals by unveiling a sign promoting animal birth control in her front yard.

Facing financial difficulties that could have meant eviction from her La Habra home, Suleman agreed in March to place the sign advocating spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats in her yard. Around the same time, she declined an offer from an adult-film production company to appear in a porn movie.

"No porn. Just Peta. Nadya prefers animals over men," her lawyer Jeff Czech wrote by way of an explanation in an e-mail to the Associated Press.

The sign, which measures 3 feet by 4 feet, reads, "Don't let your dog or cat become an 'octomom.' Always spay or neuter. PETA." Alongside the text is an image of a cat nursing a litter of young kittens. In exchange for the advertising placement, Suleman will receive a $5,000 payment from PETA and a month's supply of vegan hot dogs and Boca burgers. Suleman has said that she typically spends $1,000 each month on groceries.

"I love animals and I do believe they should be spayed or neutered," Suleman said at the unveiling ceremony Wednesday morning, at which she appeared wearing an animal rights-themed T-shirt. "Humans of course are much different."

According to PETA, news of Suleman's willingness to display the "Don't let your dog or cat become an 'octomom' " sign has resulted in an outpouring of interest from animal lovers who want to display similar signs. In response, the group has offered to give replica signs to the first 100 people who sign up to receive one on its blog, The PETA Files.

Here is the short news clip of her reading PETA's prepared statement...

i think octomom's 15 minutes of fame need to run out. i mean everyone that can use her to better there business is trying and its sad. i saw a picture once of her and her 8 babies in a 4 person stroller. the daycare i worked at had them and i remember seeing the book on there cost and it was well over $500. i mean seriously she had 6 kids by herself and she went back to what have just one more. please she gave birth to 8 more and she is struggling i mean are we supposed to feel sorry for her. she mad the choice and has put herself in this situation and has been given had out after hand out. if it was any other person who had 14 kids we don't talk about them or give them help. she is exploiting her situation and those kids just like Kate and her 8 children. its one more person trying to find fame in places they know they can.

I think it is a slam to her for sure! I suppose at least she is poking fun at her own situation? IDK? Iff she wants to feed those kids she probably coulda really made it as a porn star? That's right, she has morals...after all that's why she couldn't possibly waste one last egg :( If you want one kid you should maybe stick to the 4 or so eggs that are commonly implanted during IVF the crap load she had put in...*shake my head* common sense ppl, common sense... I just want one baby so lets put in 10 see what we get? eh... atleast they were all given their shot in the eyes of God! ...lame...

I'm not sure what to think of her. I don't know if I believe her, but in all of the interviews I have ever seen her do, she always says that she was only supposed to have one more.... I would like to believe her, but that's my whole 'try to see the good in everyone' style poking through.

She's doing what she needs to do to put food on the table. She's a single mom trying to bring money in. It's her choice as to how she does it.

Also, yes, she could move out of her house into a smaller one, but the one she's in now is just 'comfortable' enough to house everyone. I think it wouldn't be good for the kids to be in a smaller house and you aren't going to find a much cheaper one to house all of them.
Anyway.. I don't see how she is 'slamming' her kids and I think people should just leave her alone......

I am a HUGE animal lover, but this is tacky, but coming from PETA and involving that women, not much more can be expected, they are both a joke.

I understand your point, Dana, but she should've thought about how she was going to support all these kids before she had them.

$5000 is nothing when you have, what is it... 12 kids? 14? I forget.
I say make it where you can and feed those kids, maybe send them to college (one of them at least) pay the bills girl! She may be crazy but she's crazy with mouths to feed. Same goes for the other mom of 8... Kate. Dance girl, sell books, get a talk show, do anything to pay the bills and support those kids. I would!

And, I just want to add that yes, while moving into a smaller place might help her free up more money for groceries it's not going to solve all of her financial troubles....she's still gonna need to make money somehow!

She's in a million dollar home? Last I heard, when Dr. Phil was helping her, was that she moved into a home that barely had enough space for all the children? Did she move again?

I think the media should leave these people alone. I am so sick of hearing about her. Oh wow a crazy person did something crazy again. I am shocked

Don't you think moving out of her million dollar home would help put groceries on the table though?

It sends that message that she loves her children and she needs help to support them...

Well, I think cats and dogs should be spayed or neutered if you don't plan on breeding them... but I think they chose really poor choice of words for the sign, she could've supported it without slamming her children. Apparently, she should've used some common sense and not had more kids than she could afford, but by putting that sign up she's slamming herself and her own kids, and that's horrible. Just because the mom was ignorant doesn't mean they should make jokes at the kids expense, that's just sick. I'm really appauled that PETA even did that, I just lost a lot of respect for them.

It pretty much seems like an insult to her. If I were her I wouldn't put it up, but I also wouldn't have that many kids as a single woman (or married woman for that matter).

I think it sends the message to her kids that they were a mistake and she should have never had them...what ever the circumstances are regarding the births the children are here now and will I think be hurt to see this sign in their front yard...I know she did this for the money sick...
