Okay so after a discussion with my hubby, I was just curious when you have a kid does that mean you are too old to do wild things? Not anything serious like have 10 or 11 flings or just deciding not to come home for a week, but like give yourself a rainbow bright inspired hairstyle or something like that. I say yes, he says no. I'm just curious what everyone's feeling are.

I truely lucked out on that end, I work at a dayhome with someone that has been my older sisters best friend since they were like 10, they are now 35, shes like another older sister to me, and she thinks my funky style is cool and so do the kids and the best part is I get to work full time AND have my daughter with me all day :) Yikes to bar fights, lol, thats how I ended up with spaced ears in the first place! lol

I don't think so, but I definitely think being a parent should influence your decisions. I would still dye my hair wild colours if it weren't for the fact that I'm looking for a new job and I don't think my potential employers would appreciate bright pink hair. But I wouldn't go out and start a fight in a bar, which is something I may have done before.

I have 11 tattoos, getting my 12th done by a friend soon, dark purple hair and getting bright purple chunky highlights on the 31st! I have my eyebrow peirced and spaced ears (not huge though, lol) , I had my tounge and labret done to but i took both out because they were screwing with my gums and teeth :( and i tend to dress like a hippy/gypsy. Nope, not to old :) and my husband loves me inspite of it all.

I've toned it down over the years, but that was mainly all for work. Now that I'm going to be working for the state, I can basically do whatever I want!! More tattoos are coming soon! YAY!
As long as you're not endangering your child, go for it!

Carol it really doesn't take a lot of time! All I have to do in the mornings is curl my bangs up, put on my liquid eyeliner and red lipstick/lip stain, stick a flower/bow in my hair and I'm good to go. For clothing, I wear a lot of full skirts and high heels ^_^

All this talk about style makes me wish I had the style to be stylish. I'd love to do a pinup look but I haven't got a clue how. Or probably the time either. But it would be fun. I love those pageboys.

It's only hair and skin and fabric (lol). Go freakin crazy ^_^ I am. Although lately I have moved away from the pink hair of my past to embrace a more rockabilly style; loving my Betty Page bangs!

Thanks everyone! I listened to my husband and you guys! I have 6 tattoos and used to have many piecings (took them out while I was pregnant) I dyed my hair Flame Red last night. I like the funky looking clothes and all that stuff. I've never been into drinking a ton or drugs but I have been wanting to do my hair for a while. Thanks for giving me the guts! :)

I just decided on a whim to basically bleach my hair after having it red for YEARS. I'm going to dye it "anime red" for Irish Fest next month. I'm also planning my next tattoo for tax time, and trying to decide whether I want any more piercings and where they might go. I have my next four tattoos planned. After I get those, I'll try to think of what else I will want.

Being slutty and running around or doing dangerous things, Yes. Dyeing your hair funky colors, maybe dressing funky [not slutty], and maybe piercing or having tattoos, NO!

I agree with the others, as long as you're not doing stupid dangerous stuff, then let your freak flag fly! Just because we're mommies doesn't mean that we all have to start looking oh-so-proper and sensible.

Heck, the only reason I don't dye my hair funky colours or get piercings is because of my career.

But when I retire, I fully plan on dying my hair bright pink in celebration. :)

Depends on your opinion of "wild"... I'm 32 with 2 kids (&I'm pregnant) & I have my lip pierced & dreadlocks.. Is that too wild. I don't think so. I think things like dressing slutty is too wild.

I'd say you should always let the childish side of you show however old you are =] As for really bright hair colours I just think they're funny not because they're childish, but the fact that I can't believe how people are brave enough to go out with their hair like that! It wouldn't be for me, I'm never gonna use permenant hairdye or dye my hair a mad colour and I've toned down the way I dress too mainly because I wouldn't want Logan being bullied because of the way I look and also it makes me feel more of a yummy mummy dressing this way =]

If it doesnt hurt anyone then i say LIVE LIFE WOOOP !

Im getting my quarter sleeve tattoo started this year cant freaking wait ;D

Oh and im dying a big Elvira white stripe pepe le pew style down my head before i go to see Iron maiden play \m/

Oh and i just skateboarded down the street , barefoot with a bag of nappies on my back hahaha not wild BUT LOADS of fun !!

I've never been wild, so I don't have a very objective opinion on this one. Although I do feel that as long as it isn't illegal or has the potential to harm you or your child then there most likely isn't anything wrong w/ being a tad wild now and then.

I don't see anything wrong with small wild stuff. You're right the fling thing and no coming home ends the very least when you have a child...but hair color, crazy clothes...and sure, like Carol said riding a bike naked-all GOOD stuff!

Nope, never too old.....I probably have that opinion more now that I'm over 40 than I did when I was much younger. Oh, execept for all the stupid dangerous shit (including drugs and excessive alcohol, etc), but that's not about age, that's about actually having grown a brain as you get older and realising all that is just plain stupid.

Maybe too old to sit cross legged on the floor and expect to get up again.

No.

Now, I don't really DO anything wild. I didn't before I had a child. Perhaps I should start. But I can not think of a reason to stop having fun because you have a child. If dying rainbow stripes into your hair or riding in the naked bike ride makes you happy & fulfilled, then it will make you a better parent.

The only "wild" stuff one should stay away from is that which may do potential harm to a child, like drugs or running a brothel out of your house.
