OHHHHH Yes. My babies hated tummy time! So rather than stress them out, I propped them on their tummy on a boppy pillow for just a minute or two. It is about strengthening their neck so just little spurts of tummy time here and there are all that is needed. Distractions with bright jiggly jangly toys helps too. And of course your voice encouraging her all the way :)

I honestly gave up on it. She hated it even on my chest (I think it was milk on the brain); but even my husband's chest which is much wider (thanks to some major broad shoulders) she didn't really go for it. At the same time she would love to sleep on her tummy. I never put her down to sleep that way; but she'd always end up on her tummy by the time I need to get her.

Put her on your tummy while you are lying on your back, She will have tummy time and you will have fun interacting.

Several good ideas here. Right on, loving mothers! Just one more thought. A physical therapist once told me that it helps if you prop your baby up on his/her elbows.

My daughters didn't have tummy time because they were always upright strapped to my body. They held their heads up right on schedule, rolled right on schedule, walked right on schedule, and never bothered to crawl.

I have yet to come across an infant that enjoys tummy time lol it's important though so I agree you just gotta try and make it as enjoyable as possible, toys, laying on your tummy in front of them, etc. and of course in short spurts so they don't become irrate over it.

My first was the same as Loureen. He didn't like tummy time very much. He'd lay on his tummy for 5 mins tops. So I didn't do a lot of tummy time with him. He crawled at 6 months as well.

My daughter wasn't too keen on it at first but then she didn't mind it and probably spent 5x as much time on her tummy as my son. She didn't crawl until 8 months and from 8-10 months would army crawl. She didn't start crawling on hands and knees until closer to 11 months.

One method that helped getting her use to it was laying on my back with her on my tummy and chest.

My son hated tummy time too at first, I just put him down for small lengths of time and made sure he could see me (I lay down in front of him) so he knew I was there. I also gave him tummy time by lying him on my tummy and chest which he found to be much more appealing than tummy time on the floor.

My first hated tummy time so I didnt do it with him for too long , he still started crawling just before 6 months .
