This happened in Dallas, TX. A mother glued her daughter's palms to the wall and kicked her in the stomach and beat her for not using the potty. She called her mom to come over since her daughter became "unresponsive". Grandma took G-daughter to hospital, where she is now in a coma for internal injuries.

WTF? Why do people like this have kids? She has a total of 4!!!!!

I am in tears :( what a horrible thing, that poor child. And this mother is 22?? with 4 kids?? I hope she doesn't see her children ever again and they are placed in a better home. Just breaks my heart. I have 2 kids and I would never hurt them. In a time of frustration or anger just walk away!! we all know kids can be trying at times and the best thing to do is just step away for a minute or two (of course making sure they can't hurt themselves, depending on their age etc).

Seriously Christie! How does this happen? I wonder what the judge in Corpus Cristi would do/say to this Dallas mom.

What is even more messed up is a mom in Corpus Cristi, Texas got probation for spanking her daughter. HUH? AND the judge ruling on it told the mom "Maybe everyone used to spank, but no one does that anymore" (or something along those lines). WTF. This mom that glued her daughter to the wall should have her ass beat.

"I understand why she had one kid, coz she didnt know better, but to have 4 and know you don't have control over your self, I don't get it either. Why do people have so many kids when they cant cope?! "

And birth control is now so easily accessible in the United States. In NYS, if you're on Medicaid, you can get condoms for free. I don't get it. When you consider the fight women had to endure to get the right to even have education on pulling out! It boggles the mind!

It makes me wonder about her upbringing and or her mental health, it seem like something a Psycho path would do.

I still think there should be a government program that will "fix" ppl for free after two kids. And if someone is abusive to a child, should be sterilized/fixed for sure.

I've read a child called it. Cried the whole time. How can people be so cruel = and at two years old..my daughter wasn't totally successful at the potty until she was three.

Just so sad. I always wonder what on earth these women are thinking who do cruel things like this. They are CHILDREN. Of course they don't have abilities and don't march to orders.Supposed to be guiding them on how to act, not beating the tar/life out of them when they don't instantly comply.

Jaime the ordering of parenting classes was back in 2007 when she was 18. Which is why I'm wondering 1. why she had more kids knowing she didn't like them. and 2. Why child protective wasn't keeping a closer eye on her?

She's 22, has FOUR children, kicked her 2-year-old in the stomach repeatedly and was ordered to take parenting classes and counselling. Um...what?

So horrendous! Poor little girl. Obviously something was wrong in 2007 and yet this psycho wasn't kept track of. :(

DALLAS (September 15, 2011)--A Texas toddler is out of the hospital a week after her mother allegedly glued her hands to a wall.

The 2-year-old was in a coma for two days after the incident on Sept. 7.

Dallas police say the girl’s mother was mad about the youngster's potty training problems.

The toddler was also kicked repeatedly in the stomach, police said.

Elizabeth Escalona, 22, remains jailed on a charge of felony injury to a child.

At a court hearing Wednesday, a Dallas County judge ordered the toddler and her three siblings to remain in foster care.

Some of the mother's friends told WFAA-TV that Escalona snapped under the pressure.

KDFW-TV reported that in 2007, Escalona was ordered to take parenting classes and undergo counseling, but Child Protective Services didn't remove her children.

My brother mention this to me, he said that an older sister called the grandmother because the younger sister was crying loudly and she couldnt sleep and the mom wasnt doing anything to stop it and thats how they found the child? I don't know if this is true so please don't repeat it if you don't know, I'd hate to start awful rumors...

I'm too scared to search for it and read the truth... its too disturbing..

But its very saddening and I hope the poor child recovers and grows up to be happy, healthy, and a better mother to her children.

If I ruled the world I would have this woman, and those like her fixed, and sent to live on their own little island....or executed. I have very little tolerance for someone who can harm a child.

People who hurt children lose any claims to humanity in my book. If they can't treat our most innocent and precious citizens with dignity and love then they cease to deserve the ability to create them, or be anywhere near them without some serious therapy and precautionary measures in place.

@Jen you are right about the CPS being not so good, It is hard what to to if it falls on deaf ears until something tragic happens. The foster system is a joke in most areas too...

Ive contemplated glueing my kids mouths shut but i dont see the logic in glueing their hands to the wall lol. Seriously though that woman is nuts and shouldnt be allowed to breed.

Juleah, I am never quick to judge neighbors. The local cps is pretty poor about responding to neighbor complaints and tips. I called them several years ago about my son's friend (when they were both 7). She was mistreated and terrorized by her mother's new husband. CPS did nothing. Her teachers who saw her with bruises and that she would still have daytime wetting accidents brushed her off and would simply complain that she smelled. I swear I was the only person who showed that little girl some affection. I had her over to play time and time again. I'll never forget her falling and putting a tear in her dress. She just about had a panic attack. She came to me crying that her mother would hit her for ripping her clothes (it was EAster morning). I took her in, quickly mended her dress adn told her I would keep it secret.

However that's a minor example. There have been some cases locally where there were clear signs of horrific abuse and despite mulitple neighbor calls to the authorities, a mentally disabled woman was still tortured to death by her mother and stepbrother.

This woman in TX really should be beaten herself.

I agree with you JuLeah someone may very well have known this woman was abusive. Most of the time people know and do nothing or suspect and do nothing.

I also get sick and tired of people saying how the parents have to get help and support etc while the child remains in a home.

Edit to add they did know read the story, she was already sent to parenting classes for her older daughter

Okay, but see ... here again ... this woman has four kids. This can not be the first time she has ever done anything to cause concern. Why does she still have four kids?

For all the years leading up to this ... where were the neighbors, her family, the teachers? True, we don't have the full story here, but again, we are so quick to blame just one person when stuff like this happens; which is why stuff like this keeps happening

Anyone who knew and didn't nothing, anyone who suspected and didn't nothing ... all are to blame - and if they don't see that, then next time, they will do nothing again

Stories like this make my soul hurt and grieve... I don't understand why people have the children, one okay you can say they did not know better... but if you freak out and hurt a baby stop having them!

Poor little baby! A fricken TWO YEAR OLD isn't ready to be 100% on the pot.

kid will probably be required to stay with her too in the long run.

Sometimes I think people like this should still be hung in the public square. I get mad, been known to turn and walk away, but beating a child? Unbeliavable!

I don't understand how people do this to their children. There has to be a mental issue here. I know being a parent is hard and frustrating at times, but there is no excuse for something like this.
