As a suvivor of cervical cancer this article just makes me sick. When I found out I didn't WANT to tell my husband. It takes a cold person to do what she did.

That's a great example of making lemonade when life ahnds you lemons though, even with what he must be feeling about what she put him through, he's still trying to raise back the funds for caner research. Good for him!

Just recently something similar happened on FACEBOOK!!!! A guy that went to highschool with my parents (class of 1974) started telling friends and family via facebook that he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Back in highschool he tried to take my mother on a date. They went on a few dates, but my grandmother had a bad feeling about him and my mom decided not to take it further. He wrote my mom this long letter about how she broke his heart and he hated her for it for 30 years but now that he's dying of cancer he has forgiven her and just wants her to know that he loves her and to call him.

He had hundreds of his friends trying to call him and go out to L.A. to see him because apparently he had no friends or family out there and everyone was terrified that he was going through chemo alone. People bough plane tickets to go to see him and hired investigators to try to find his long lost sisters and half sisters so that he could see his family before he died. Finally he told everyone that it was ending and he didn't have much longer. He had someone else (a fake person) post a message on his facebook talking about how he passed away at 2:00am that morning. His facebook wall was filled with people telling stories about him about good times they had, and posting old photographs.

The next day his status was "I'm not dead, I'm not even sick. Fuck you mother fuckers. Now I know how fake you all are."

People were shocked and convinced that his facebook had been hacked and it was a sick joke. Finally someone got a hold of a neighbor in L.A. and his neighbor said that he was a kind of weird guy, maybe on steroids, but definitely alive and definitely not sick.

About a week later his next status update was "Sorry to everyone I hurt who can't forgive me. I need help and am getting counseling." Haha, WTF!?!?!?! I told my mom to make sure she keeps her door locked at night because this guy is insane (and also had 100 less facebook friends) People are freaking WEIRD!

I have two disabled children. I also have had one of my children nearly die at birth, and my goddaughter passed away when she was 10yrs old due to complications of a heart attack. It's not "fun" going through life altering things. I hated all the attention we got, and still get, because of it. I would rather of had completely healthy kids and live a normal life. People who do this sicken me.

A guy I know was told by his wife that she was being tested for cancer because she knew he was upset with her and it was Christmas/anniversary time for them. She wanted to make sure he still got her something even though they were fighting, and she wanted to make sure that he wasn't going to leave her.
All she ended up getting were divorce papers.

That's just horrible. Not the first time I've heard of this though. When my daughter was in high school, there was a girl there that supposedly had epilepsy and had a canine companion with her. Dances could not have strobe lights but the kids were all ok with it because they liked her. Then, months later she said she had cancer. The school raised all kinds of money for her because her mother said they didn't have insurance. The girl was bald within months so of course everyone was pulling for her while she was going through her chemo. Their church had a huge fund raiser for the family. THEN, we all found out it was all a lie. She didn't have epilepsy OR cancer. They moved quickly but were found and prosecuted. It was all the moms idea and apparently it wasn't the first time. The entire school was so pissed and the church too. We live in a fairly small community so it was a big deal. I can't believe people can do that. They must not have a conscience at all. It's just evil.

What a twat. I hope she really does get cancer (something kind of minor but still needs chemo so her hair falls out). That would be karmic justice. >:P

That is such a sad story!!! I hope this reaches far and wide so she can't con others the same way again... :(
