I have a child that goes through this even though the year is almost over! Reminding your child that this is a trick by your brain setting of your worry alarm and to take a deep breath and breath out is helpful. Remind your child that after they arrive at school and start their day the alarm will shut off. That there is an end to this overwhelming sensation of feeling ill and it will pass. If your child has more than one episode of feeling ill, then remind your child to "ride the wave" it will pass and anxiety sometimes comes and goes in waves. Discuss any worries that may be causing or triggering off the alarm and discuss possible solutions to end the worry. Planning solutions in advance will help so when a worry comes up you have a plan of attack. Most worries repeat themselves so keep a record.

My daughter felt sick on the way to school everyday for months on and then she thought she was going to vomit which then reinforced the idea she has a vomiting bug which was her fear!! At my daughters anxiety class they taught her to ride the waves of anxiety if they don't go.This happened about 3 years ago and i felt so alone.
