My son had similar reactions to gluten when he was a baby, but now at 5 years old, he tolerates it just fine. We kept him off all gluten and dairy until he was about 2 1/2, and then introduced it very slowly. He has had no recurrence of the rashes he used to get. The hardest part was limiting my gluten intake while I was breastfeeding.

Good luck, and hopefully it will be temporary for your son, too.

Thank you so much for the tips.  I now am confident that I will find many alternatives for my baby.  I wish he would overcome this as he grows up. Thanks again!

Hi! I have Celiacs, no fun, but starting now, you can educate yourself on what it takes to be gluten free. There are many choices, and websites out there. Even on here, there are communities within Circle of Moms that are dedicated to "mom's of celiacs" Luckily, no fruits, veggies, or meats if prepared in your home, will have any gluten in them. Its not easy, but your little one will never know the difference in taste. (I was diagnosed as an adult, and boy was that a tough transition!)
I promise though, that there are thousands of recipes out there, and probably many meals that you may already prepare that could be gluten free.
Rice and potato are good alternate starches while you transition to finding other bread products that your lil one will enjoy.
I have yet to feed my son any gluten containing ingredients, knowing full well that it is hereditary, and he may have it too. I make all my son's baby food at home. (he's 6 months) Feel free to message me with any questions!
Good Luck!
