I always knew my son would be born on Feb. 29th. I almost had to be induced. But, he came on the 29th and if it wasn't a leap year, he would have been born on March 1st. I celebrate his birthday on the 1st. If it hadn't been leap year, he would have been born on the 1st. He had a monkey theme for his birthday this year. it was his first birthday and he is my little monkey. He likes to climb all over everything and everyone. I never thought about a frog theme, but maybe for his 4th birthday. since it will be his technical 1st birthday.

I never even thought of a frog theme, what a great idea, I will save that idea until his 4th Birthday.  Lochie was 9 days late so I always thought he would be a Feb baby so I have chosen Feb 28th.  I am a March baby, dont want him over shadowing my month of celebration!!

My little one's first leap day (non)birthday is this weekend. We are meeting my family at Disney World to celebrate. (the family is all over the US so it's really neat that they can all make it.)

I have been asked many times by work colleagues which day we are going to celebrate on. I well them that "it's not fair that he doesn't really have a day to himself this year, so we are celebrating on both days." ...well, they think it's funny!

Ah, yes we are BIG frog collectors ever since Jack was born. I plan on doing a whole frog theme in four years from now! I saw a lot on OrientalTrading.com in case you're still looking! We're doing a Curious George theme as Jack LOVES him and he's "our little Monkey."

This is our first unofficial birthday. (My little one's turning one.) I'm doing a frog theme in reference to the whole leapfrog thing. There are a lot of frog decorations available right now with Valentine's Day coming up. I'd love to hear what others are doing/planning.

We decided to celebrate the kids' birthday on the 28th because it is still February. I think that March could be confusing for a little one. Also, their birthstone is February.  Generally, the party is on the weekend and on their actual birthday, either the 28th or 29th if it is a Leap Year, we go to their favorite restaurant...Joe's Crab Shack. They love the song and dance and also enjoy the shrimp.

My twins were born on Leap Day 04. Because they are boy/girl twins, that has been a bigger dilema for us. For their 1st birthday, we did a building block theme...I know, not very fun or original. It gets easier as they get older because they show interest in things and you can let them lead you and still be ultra-creative. I found a lot of ideas for cakes and party games on-line...best of luck and most importantly, have fun!
