Hi there,

I know not many people write on this community but I thought I would give it a try. I am a mother of two. My oldest is 10 and I have a 6 month old little girl. We just moved back to the Northwest from Texas and I was wondering if anyone could recommend how I could find a group of Moms to gather with once a week. All my friends here have kids my daughter's age and are probably tired of hearing me talk about my babies naps, poops and how my boobs are doing with breastfeeding (LOL). I need to talk to other Mom's going through the same stuff I am. So I am starting over, trying to make a new batch of friends with children my new daughter's age and need some guidance. Anyone know where I can look in the area for a Mom's group?

La Leche League meetings are a GREAT way to meet other mamas, especially ones breastfeeding! Check out their website to find local meetings. there is one in NE i believe the first Tuesday of each month that meets at Kennedy School and it's a toddler meeting. there are many moms there with older (3 -5 years) and infants.

I'd love to meet new moms in the area to talk about our kids and play-dates and what not. My daughter is 16 months.

Go to your local library they usually have a bulletin board with options. There are magazines with local events there also(kids magazines) "NW kids". I use to attend mom groups in a couple of areas in different churches - not affiliated with the churches but using them as meeting places.

I'd be interested, once we move. We are currently in Idaho waiting for my husbands hire date. And would like to meet some moms with children my daughter's age's. My daughters are 2yrs and 6 months. right now we are looking at November, but dates are not firm and could be sooner.

you can find groups thru yahoo as well.     i have been here for 8 months and found other moms by volunteering a ton at their schools!  



I am in lake oswego: daughter 6 and son 4.

Local hospitals sometimes step up groups like that. Also depending on where you live there are sometimes some great excersize groups at malls. I know if I didn't end up having to go to work there was a really neat stroller group that met before Washington Square opened in the morning that looked fun and safe.
