My new step kids are 8 & 13 and they are worldly. How do I keep them from influencing my daughter who is almost 5? How do I keep these kids entertained when they desire to watch ungodly TV shows, video games, and music?? We dont have cable! My 5 year old doesnt own a pair of pants and her now step sister is coming into our home with this new example of pants/ shorts ect... I want to keep a standard of holiness in my home all the while making my husbands children welcome while they are here. What do I do?

First of all, you do not have to shelter your daughter to teach her about being godly. Where is your husband in all of this? You need to sit down with him and establish the expectations. Focus less on how godly these children are and focus more on how you can make them feel welcome in your home and what fun activities you can introduce them to. Focus on treating the kids the way Jesus would treat them (as opposed to how the Pharasees would treat them).

If you want your daughter to wear skirts instead of pants, that is fine, but try not to forget that wearing pants in itself is not a sin. I have known MANY pants-wearing godly women.
