I use Adobe Lightroom 3 & Photoshop CS5. When I was first learning, I bought PS Elements and bought a book on how to use it. Any book about Photoshop by Scott Kelby is great! Then as I got comfortable with that, I moved up to the Photoshop CS2 and bougth a book on that one. I still use that book, even though I am using CS5.

I use photoshop CS5 mostly :) i also have photoshop elements which is always a good place to start. My boss is happy with a lot of editing i do for him on elements 6 so any photoshop is good :)
I also hear amazing things about Pure Photo Shop actions :)

CS5 requires a fast computer and elements can run on pretty much anything! (my CS5 is on my partners laptop because my home desktop is crap lol)
But CS5 is brilliant!

I might also add that i am not a qualified photographer yet, just do some shoots with this guy who saw my work on facebook and asked if i wanted to do some shoots, and i also do most of his editing :)
