My son received his helmet yesterday. I am increasing the time spent in it during the day. He slept in the helmet this morning while out in the car seat. Has not slept in his crib yet with it. Any suggestions for adjusting? He seemed rather upset when I layer him in the crib for a nap. However this could have been anything. Any other advice as we go through this treatment for plagiocephaly ?

Thanks so much Bobbie. My son has adjusted well , we are into week 6 and we see a huge improvement already! We go for a measurement tomorrow. It was only for the first week or so that he needed to get used to it. Hope all goes well with your daughter's hemet:)

My daughter just started wearing hers and from what I understand - they just have to get used to it. I put my daughter in bed the first night with it and although she woke up a couple of times, I just comforted her and she fell back asleep.

My doctor said she needs to be in it 23 hours a day for 3-4 months. Not sure if that's the case with you, but I don't think you're supposed to be taking it off and putting it back on very often. That's probably not fun for you son either - if you leave it on longer, he'll probably forget about it.
