I am wondering what medications and coping strategies you each use. So far, I am taking an oral birth control constantly to get rid of the very scary depression I started suffering the week before my period after my 2nd child was born.

I would love to hear about everyone else's meds. I would also love any tips people have on dealing with that terrible week.

Nice to meet everyone,

Holly

Hi Holly! I was diagnosed with PMDD about five years ago. Initially, I was prescribed prozac and it really helped. I stayed on that for about 9 months. I went off of it and didn't need any meds until after my second child was born. He was a colicy little fella and not a good sleeper. Then we decided to get all crazy and build a house. With all this new stress I needed to try something. Instead of going back on prozac I decided to try a natural alternative. I chose L-tryptophan and it has been pretty successful. You can google natural remedies for pmdd. Exercise is also a must. I hope this helped.
