it's been released. Now will all you Birthers please shut up? I ask that but I know it won't work. Reading the comments under the Fox News article already shows that it won't end anything. Apparently per one idiot, if the BC doesn't have his wee baby footprint and mother's thumbprint, it's not valid. What absolute horsehockey! Yes, I know you don't like the man with brown skin in office but you'll have to just wait another year or so and he'll be gone. Now can you please shush and let him at least TRY to get something accomplished?

I'm with you Laura. I sincerely wish I could have voted for McCain. But Obama is our President, I happen to be in favor of a lot of the health care reform (not all but a lot) and while it's not perfect, it's something we didnt' have before because it was not an issue to most politicans. I like that he's been helpful in getting rid of DADT and hopefully the DOMA will go that way too. I do think he's wishy washy on some issues and I think the opposition has taken advantage of that with asinine hyperbole and birther crap. (Yes yes I know the Dems are just as bad in many respects but one would think that rather than imitate behavior, one party might stand up and say no, we're not going to behave like bought & sold mouthpieces for whoever's paying our rent.)

to say that racism has NOTHING to do with the vitriol aimed at Obama is naive and silly. It's not dead and it does have SOMETHING to do with the madness surrounding him.

I have been disappointed in him, but in truth his presidency has actually proved to me that the POTUS has no real power in your country anyway.

The corporations rule, there are 6 lobbyists in Washington for every 1 politician, and now they will be allowed to donate tons of cash to whoever serves THEIR needs the best...yeah, the masses can still vote...for whoever the corporations tell them to.

I couldn't agree more Jennifer. Now if people would let this drop (I'm looking at you Mr Trump) we can focus on REAL issues or not but at least we wont' focus on FAKE MADE-UP NONSENSE like the birth certificate.

Yes, please shut up about the birth certificate already!! Don't you have any REAL issues to be concerned with? Ugh!!

Well now Kelly, your statement regarding Trump is definitely something we can agree on:)

If you really have never seen this type of vitriol before, than you haven't been paying attention. I really am not trying to turn this into which 'side' is meaner, or more hateful, so I will stop there.

As far as the birth certificate debacle, he is now releasing the long form to fan the flames and try to direct attention away from his complete and utter failure as a president. He knows if he can use the birthers as a distraction, the media will focus on the 'loonies' who still aren't satisfied. Of course the argument for the other side could be that it takes time to create a good forgery, so obviously he will be getting what he wants out of it.

As far as document demands from previous presidents, do you not remember the whole national guard debacle? Didn't Dan Rather get fired for airing falsified documents, conveniently close to the election?

The one thing we can agree on is that Trump so far has been a gift to the Left. I just hope his flame dies long before the primaries. The man is a complete and total douche.

Sorry but no, the racist thing is not completely played out, it's not made up and it isn't hooey. There has been a rise in numbers within the white supremacist groups - some of whom have interjected themselves into the Tea Party (particularly in the Arizona TP). Are all TP folk racist? No, of course not. Nor am I not accusing you personally Kelly of being a racist. But I have never really seen such vitriol against a president (not even GW Bush - whom I didn't care for but nor did I think him the anti-christ and nor would I ever wish harm upon the man or his family). In 2009, death threats against Obama increased by 400 % - honestly, I don't think it had anything really to do with his policies. It had to do with the color of his skin.

So 1 in 4 of Americans think Obama was not born on US soil. Obama provided his birth certificate - but that wasn't enough. He recently had his long version released probably because Trump re-opened the whole thing and has been running his campaign to a large extent on this whole birther issue - and it's still not enough. Now Trump wants proof that Obama went to the schools he went to (did he really go to Columbia and Harvard? Or is it a vast conspiracy?) Trump also believes that Obama didn't write the two books he wrote. Pat Buchanan wants to see his transcripts because according to the likes of Pat Buchanan, Obama only got into Columbia and Harvard via affirmative action. Heard him say it with his very own mouth. No chance Obama could have actually been smart enough to do it on his own tenacity, merit and intellect. These are not real issues. No other president has had demands for his transcripts or his birth certificate. These are red herrings and stupid ones at that.

Frankly, Trump has been a gift to the Democrats.

What's up with the last sentence then?

And seriously, the whole 'you don't like him cause he's black and you're a racist' thing is completely played out. I do like that Jen has accepted the fact that he won't be re-elected though.

No that is not the implication at all (though I do disagree with your assessment that Obama has accomplished "nothing" in 2 1/2 years). The "birther" fiasco is a distraction and that is the end of it.

I am confused. Who in here is a birther?

Also, are you implying that this whole birth certificate crap is the reason he hasn't accomplished anything except jacking up healthcare in the last 2 1/2 years?

The irony is even with his releasing it, the birthers won't stop. They'll question its validity and attempt to keep it at the forefront of discussion. Because it's nothing but a big conspiracy to take over the world with fascism, socialism, communism, islamism, anti-christism and whatever else these folks can pull out their backsides.

I am soooo disappointed! I was so hoping that Obama wouldn't release it! What a shame!

Pamela's exactly right. If the freaking CLINTONS, with all of their money and connections, could find no "there" there, with regards to Obama's origins, then there's nothing TO be found.

This whole birther thing is just a distraction. If Obama were not a citizen born on American soil, you don't think the Republicans and Hilary Clinton wouldn't have been singing that from the rooftops? It only became an issue after his election. It's a farce and a distraction and people need to WAKE UP to that fact. Pay attention to the REAL issues and not this horseshit.
