I've seen really obnoxous people on both sides of the fence. But I would love to continue to have debates that don't result in name calling.

Niki, I wasn't around when this group was primarily conservative either. From what I have heard from those who were involved at that time, the introduction of fact checking conservative claims was fought with T.H.U.M.P violating methods... many of the conservatives where kicked off CoM. On the other hand I heard the claim that the conservatives just got tired of debating the same issues over and over. We may never know for sure.

I think they get overwhelmed since this is primarily a liberal debate group. You guys are very close and I've talked to many others since I first came here who feel the same way.

They come in here expecting to debate, and when it goes from simply talking about something to seeming like 12 people suddenly jumping on you over a simple disagreement, they get pissed and it all gets ugly. Many many many women have left this group who are conservative because of this.

But I wasn't around when the conservative group was on here. What happened? Why didn't they stick around, if there was a group of them?

@ Laura, I think the jerk element happens on both sides of the isle. That's been a part of political debate for some time.



I often hope expressing my opinion may affect someone's opinion, and when that just doesn't seem to be happening, then it seems pointless to debate. I was thinking that some conservatives have that feeling as well.

I have other more cynical theories, but I thought I'd just ask.

There's not much activity in the Republican Conservative Moms group either. After their fearless leader got kicked off COM for the second time, I think they all figured it was a liberal conspiracy and high-tailed it out of here.
