So I was watching the news this morning and a story cam up about model Gisele Bundchen and how she feels it should be made law than new parents have to breast feed their infants until 6 months of age. It went on to talk about how her 8 hour labour was easy and not painful and after 6 weeks she is back to her pre baby self.......
Just wondering how everyone else feels about her personal statement?

well apparently on the other thread someone corrected me on that...but I watched the view today and the ladies on there where saying that SHE herself didn't breastfeed for 6 months so...I don't know. W/e its a stupid thing to say!

I said this on the other site, I find it really funny for someone who admits to breastfeeding for less than a month to come out and say something that stupid...ok you don't want people to take pics of you nursing. Ever heard of a pump??

Um I think she can shove it hahahaha I would have given anything to have been able to breast feed Zachary (as you know). I would have loved a wonderful peachy labour with no problems at all. I think she needs a reality check and a kick in the ass

Not a big fan of comments like that. Good for her if everything went perfectly but leave other moms the fuck alone. I couldn't breastfeed and it was enough of a disappointment for me. I don't need some bitch telling me I am a criminal because of it. She should open up her pretty little eyes and see the world for what it really is.

What ever is all i can say..what ever.I got back into shape weeks later for heaven sake i was 7stone 10 lbs a week later and now 19 months later i am just 7stone an i am in great shape but i did nothing to get this way.
I did wonderful b/f after 4 days of labour and it ended in an emergency c-section.My daughter was very lucky.I had no problems with b/f and all the issues that go with that but i becoming depressed and my emotional state wasnt good due to the pain of the c-section and birthing experience.I gave up for me and i am glad i did,i wasnt in a good state of mind and giving up allowed me to heal and recover and be a happier mom and in turn i had a happier baby and family.I never bonded with my little girl until weeks later and i felt she hated me..glad to say shes a wonderful 19mth old now and my world.You may of had a peachy time model girl well done but get over yourself.That statement is not realistic for many mothers.

Anyway, she's obviously reasonably famous, so OF COURSE she found it all to be a breeze! She would have had the best midwives in a private hospital, time to rest, someone to help out whenever she wanted, she could easily get to a gym and work out etc etc.
*Most* famous people make me sick when it comes to having babies. They have no clue what it's REALLY like! Grrrrrrrr!

That's how I feel about that statement.
Honestly, why do people think that just because everything was all peaches and roses for them, that it is the same experience for everyone?? I like Gisele but it's a really ignorant statement that could make new mums who couldn't breastfeed feel bad.
And as for being back to pre baby self 6 weeks later ... WHOOPDIDOOO!
