Does anyone watch the show? I'm struggling right now to lose weight and I find the show extremely motivating! What are ur thoughts? Do you have a few extra pounds you'd like to shed? What do you do to get the weight off?

I think Dancing is great esp if you have toddlers. I'm not sure this is what you guys are actually getting at though (maybe you mean like an actual dance class-I have heard good things about belly dancing) But J loves to put on music and jump and dance and act silly-Nikki, I bet Izzy would think you are the best thing since sliced bread if you did that with her lol.

Dancing is kinds counter productive for me because I have to be smashed to get enough courage to make such a fool out of myself! So I would possibly drink more calories than I would work off!

I love dancing , dancing is how i stayed fit before Cooper and sexcersizes LOL .

I'm the same i will dance anywhere , anytime , i went out with my cousins a few months ago while my mum babysat when i was visiting them and even though i had this monster belly i still got up and danced at the club HA! must have looked SOOO funny , sober and pregnant , dancing LOL

Mind you i was exhausted by 8pm haha and went home !

LOL...that sounds like a lot of fun! I actually miss that aspect of going clubbing. I really and truly enjoy dancing and just letting loose. I don't need to have a drink at all to be out on the dance floor all night long, shakin' what my mama gave me! I think dance is such an awesome expression of every facet of life. Happy, sad, excited, passionate, angry, you name it, there's a dance for it. I have had rhythm in me since I was a kid and my son does too...I just love to turn on the radio and say to Gray "come and dance with momma" and then watch him shake his little bum! I think I'll try a hip hop class if one is offered for sure.

It's true about yoga...I always feel awesome after a yoga class! I am afraid to try any of the classes yet until I get some of this weight off and get into a routine...I fear I might just die of exhaustion within seconds...either that or sweat profusely, pass out or just look completely ridiculous trying to keep up...lol. Easy does it for me right now, but I want to try a class or two eventually.

Loureen, if you do a step-class or another specialized class that will probably help with the toning. I've done a class or two before and they really kick your butt!

Yeah i just had a look 119 dollars , i would spend that much if it meant i would be toned like they say , i dont like too strict a diet which is why i loved weight watchers , basically i just want a workout i can do at home that works because either way if i dont find a DVD for an at home workout , i will be joining the gym which will probably end up more expensive in the long run .

I loved weight watchers and was going to the gym , i lost heaps of weight after the birth of Cooper but wasnt getting toned , and i really want to tone this preggo tummy up LOL

I know a couple people who are doing it and are having GREAT success BUT it's expensive and the diet, amoung other things is VERY strict! IMO, weight loss has to be about a conscious lifestyle change......eating right and exercising regularily! Any diet is great intitially but it you don't change ur mindset it'll never last!

I don't think I've lost quite as much as you, Dana, but I am definitely feeling a bit lighter. I put on some comfies that were snug a few months ago and tonight they were still fitting, but loose. I need to get a scale, but that could be bad! Awesome accomplishment Dana...keep it up, I'm not far behind you!

Walk, walk, walk.I did for both my pregnancies on my first i was 7&half stone starting and i was 10stone at the end..i lost the weight but once i started the pill i gained the weight back and i was nearly 9stone for years.I got pregnant again at nearly 9stone but lost weight and at my due date i was 9stone 4lbs and within a weeks i was 7stone 10lbs.I am still that 16 months later.I walk, eat a healthy breakfast and dinner and i dont snack on junk food, ladies for me the junk food was my worst thing and it did nothing but make me bigger. My second pregnancy i couldn't eat chocolate and junk so i got used to not wanting it and i am in better shape NOW than i was before i had my first child.Get motivated moms lol. Also do you have a twist stepper its great when indoors and you cant get to go walking.I also love swimming too.

Dancing is great,i didnt get to go out much since having my second child, but my gosh when i did it was a work out & a half my tummy muscles were sore the next day lol.&the fact was dancing in heels.

I HIGHLY recommend the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels, yes from the biggest loser! It changes routine every 10 days and it is interval training so you get the best results.
Ok so i have a funny club story...pre baby of course lol...i was out with a friend, she met i guy i requested my favorite song i start getting down to my favorite song and i ripped the ass right out of my jeans. YEP! And i was only there 5 minutes! SERIOUSLY! and my friend didn't want to leave so i danced with my ass hanging out and i never went back there again...well for a few weekends anyways lol.

LOL Rebecca...I also love to dance, although I don't turn out my lights. I'm sure my neighbours think I'm a bit special with some of my ultra hip moves! I haven't done a lot of clubbing since Gray was born...I just don't have the same desire for it these days...on a typical weekend I do laundry, catch up on housework and watch movies that are on t.v.--BORING!!! I need to change up my lifestyle a bit though because I need some 'me' time and I'm just not getting enough of it.

Another thing i meant to say...
Do you ladies by chance remember what you used to do before having kids and you were smaller? Did you go out to clubs and dance by chance? I LOVE to dance! I was a cheerleader in high school...ok no rolling eyes and this is no cliche, but i was my smallest during my dancing days...good lord i sound like a stripper now lol. Seriously though, turn out your lights and blast some music and just DANCE! It is the BEST workout ever! A girl on my cheer team was a size 8 when she joined and within 3 months she was a size 2...and no i'm not lying. You might feel stupid but i swear it works...and yes i turn out my lights to dance:)

I just came across this facebook group...if your on Fb which i'm sure you are copy and paste this link. It's for a 30 day sugar diet. I'm going to start it once the cookies my husband bought are gone LOL!!! I also did the 30 day shred and the special K diet and had GREAT results with that. I gotta get on that again too. I have friends doing the PX90 and are losing weight fast but the diets are strict and if money is tight might not be a great option.]

Oopsy i forgot the link:)

Awww....thanks Nicole! LOL! I can't believe I have as much energy as I do though. I'm not used to all this exercise....haha!....an hour quick paced walk this morning, a half hour dawdle with Roxanne this afternoon, and * crosses her fingers * my Tae Bo video this evening.....phew, I'm tired just typing it! LOL!

Thanks for the support ladies..

We need a "That's awesome" button to choose from.

Go Dana go! If you have a neighborhood park you can head to, chasing Roxanne around and climbing up and down the park with her is a great work out. William certainly gives me one when we go. Especially when his cousin is here for day care too.

One thing I did want to mention....I don't watch a lot of the afternoon talk shows like Dr. Phil or Oprah (not that I don't like them, just don't watch t.v. during the day) BUT I have caught myself watching a full episode of Dr. Oz and I find his advice to be awesome. He has such great suggestions and he talks about what foods are best and what foods to limit. I think he can definitely help us Dana...and he's pretty handsome for an old guy! LOL

Thanks Nicole! Just wanted to update everyone.....Roxanne and I just went on ANOTHER half hour walk! This time it was for her though, I let her walk rather than making her sit in the stoller for and hour! We live on a greenback and she LOVES it! And we grabbed the mail while we were out for a walk....damn bills! LOL!

This will sound odd, but I was recently told that chocolate cravings are linked to low levels of calcium. And I was told to try taking a vitamin D supplement to help my body better break down and absorb the calcium I was consuming.
My chocolate cravings of the MUST HAVE NOW variety have nearly disappeared. Now it only happens that week before my monthly starts.

P.S. I went for an hour long walk this morning with my skinny SIL...LOL! She's super supportive! I'm plannin to do my new Tae Bo video workout tonight once Roxanne's in bed! Wish me luck!

Nicole...thanks for sharing your story. It definitely helps me to read about others and see the small strides they have been making even when they don't have a lot of time, because I think that's also part of my problem...I have very little time to work out so it's easy to make up an excuse not to---well NOT anymore! lol. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Yes Dana, we can definitely endure our weight-loss journey together. I just got home from being at my friend's overnight (we spent mother's day together with our kidlets) and I had an attack of chocolate--lucky for me there was none to be found AND I didn't bother trying to satisfy it by eating my friend out of house and home...so I'm thinking that if I can overcome my chocolate cravings when there is none to be found, I can do it all the time...I just have to realize that it's mind over matter and get over my thinking that I "NEED" to have it! I am a happier person in recent months because I have been working on my mental health and attempting to work on my physical health...but I think my day away from home gave me the boost that I needed to realize I have to change my habits if I want to be successful! Gah! I am still thinking about chocolate though and I'm hoping it will subside with time.

I forgot to mention in my ramble that I started the wii fit and such about 3 weeks ago.
I finally just said screw it I need to start doing this now instead of talking about it. It has been REALLY hard making the time for it. I try to sneak it in during nap time on the days I know I won't get a chance to do it in the evening. I am thinking of switching it to the early morning once I get my sleep schedule back on track.

I have lots of pounds I am frustrated with trying to lose.

I gained about 40 pounds when I was pregnant with William plus another 30 of pure water (the OB was so shocked at how much I gained from one week to the next that I was told if I gained anymore weight from water I would be sent to the hospital).

I lost all the water weight within the first 4 weeks of having given birth. I have now been stuck at the same weight since for just over a year and a half now. I was also about 25 pounds over weight before I got pregnant.

I am now doing 30-45 minutes of Wii Fit/Wii Fit Plus every other day. I do 10 minutes of yoga and then split the rest between cardio and strength activities.

I am thinking of throwing Wii Active in once a week as well.

Once the bikes have been tuned up/fixed we will be putting the bike trailer together and biking as a family at least twice a week (one week day, one weekend day).

I know that biking is something I love and enjoy. Before I started working from home I was biking 12 km a day and weighed the least I ever have as an adult.

I think the Biggest Loser is a very motivating show. They also give great tips for eating properly and healthy.

Since I have been stuck at the same weight. We eat as healthy as we can for the budget we have, I know that I need to increase my activity level to boost my metabolism. I have always been that way, but up until recently my work schedule had left me pretty exhausted (between childrens schedules and then caring for my own son I was working 12-14 hour days). I have since changed that so that I could start liking my job again, work on me so I can be a better Mom and day care provider emotionally and physically.

An overtired, run down Mom/day care provider is not a happy fun day care provider. It was leading down the road to burnt out rapidly.

I am now working a decent day (maximum 11 hours but it's early morning to dinner time instead of late into the evening and William gets up in the early morning anyway).

I am exercising and though not seeing any real results yet feeling better about myself.

I am also sleeping better.

Okay I will stop rambling now.

OK! We're EXACTLY on the same page! I have a 100lbs to lose also and it IS overwhelming.....we have to do it together!? I'm trying to change the way I think because it's self destructive.....even if I only lose 20lbs.....that's something to be proud of and I know I'll feel better so what's stopping me?!

I'm only 5' 4.....I was 140 lbs before I got pregnant and super happy with my body image! I WILL lose at least SOME of the weight I've gained and be happy with my body image again! That's my statement to everyone! Watch me go....LOL!

Jaime - posted on 05/09/2010

I think I also get overwhelmed thinking about having to lose 100lbs. And knowing that just days before I found out I was pregnant I had reached a long-awaited goal of 165lbs, I guess it's my own pity party at having to start all over again! I've struggled with weight ever since I was about 16 and it's just always been a battle. Then I finally get my head and body in the right place and BAM! So starting over has been a bitch because like all of you, I know what I have to do, it's just getting myself up off the couch to actually DO IT! I am really really really going to start trying and maybe I'll see the results that I've been desperately trying for.

We're on the same page Jaime.....my head's with you! I just keep making excuses and it sucks! I say " JUST DO IT! " but I haven't taken my own advice! I do well for a few days and then for some reason I head to McDonalds? Ugh

I think I might try Weight Watchers ladies......as some of you know it was my bday the other day and my mommy bought me the Billy Blanks Tae Bo workout videos and an exercise ball! I'm excited to use it.....perhaps while Roxanne is napping instead of laying on the couch, eating and getting fatter?!!

Wish me luck!

I love weight waters too, I lost almost 30kg with them, but I did the old school points and meetings. It's annoying because I know what I have to do, the ww points are burned into my memory so I am well aware of how much I should eat, but I am so bloody slack at the moment I can't be bothered. I need to get my butt into gear I saw a woman at the shopping centre wearing a very large moo moo and I am afraid that's where I might be be headed if I don't get motivated and change what I am doing!

I have always had to watch my weight I have a thyroid condition which has caused me to put on huge amounts of weight in the past but I had no problem loosing it when I was single, possibly because I felt the need to wear skimpy little clothes out clubbing, I just don't have that motivation now as a SAHM.

Ugh, I am struggling so much with this right now. I feel extremely mentally motivated and prepared for losing weight...but my physical motivation is shit! I just wish wish wish I could get to the gym without having to worry about taking Gray with me when I go. I know that they have a daycare there, but it's only at certain times during the day and the only time that I can go is in the evening...kind of sucks when I walk everywhere and by the time I'm done and get home it's way late....I don't know, maybe I'm just making up the excuse in my mind to try and justify why I haven't yet gone to the gym for a work-out. I so badly WANT to get back in shape and feel energized and healthy, but for some reason I can get past the fatigue and frustration of being seriously overweight! Gah! Suck it up and JUST DO IT!!!
