I learned to not use pull ups they will keep going in them. When I changed my daughter to big girl panties she was potty trained in less than 2 weeks. Kids don't like the way the real underwear feels when its wet or when they poop in them so they are more likely to go potty for you. Plus it seems that him being only 22 months old that he is a little young to start. Is he showing signs that he wants to use the potty?

He may not be quite ready. Just keep reintroducing it. Try rewarding when he goes or even when he attempts to go. That got my daughter started using it. We are sort of in the middle of potty training. She will occasionally take off her diaper and use the potty but not all the time. We started by just giving her a reward when she sat on it with her clothes on ... then after a few times we worked our way to diaper off and sitting on it and then going potty. We used the kind that sing and talk and she really liked that as a reward in the end. She is 30 months old now. My boys weren't trained until they were about 36 months. Usually around age 2-3 is when potty training is done so don't worry that he isn't quite there yet.

Good Luck!

I think my problem with potty training my two and a half year old. is that I work and my husband works and it seems we don't have the time. She pooped all by herself one day and my response was hhhhhh (deep sudden breath in) and I think it scared her that she did bad. (I could kick myself) I was like no hannah you did good. Though she hasnt done it since.

I finally got my 2.5 yr old potty trained, we asked him every 1/2 hr and put him on the potty, ( even if he refused). He is now fully potty trained does # 1 & 2 both in the potty and he wears a pull up at night but it is never wet in the morning. I tried potty training before but he just wasn't ready. We also used friends older kids as examples, and that helped.

I am having similar problems with my daughter, i have tried a m&m machine where she can get one candy if she goes potty, i tried bubble gum, i got two different potty chairs, one sings, and one talks, i even got a dora seat that just sits on the toilet, she just will not go!
