I recently bought the 3-day-pottytraining online. It seems to have a high success rate. But I was wondering if anyone had used it, any tips you might have and if it really worked for you.

It really varies as to when to start training a child. A lot depends on if they are expressing an interest and asking questions or pointing, etc. The time varies by child I've seen. Even w/ that, some may "start" early, but not be fully trained all the way until later given their deveopmental stages, events going on w/in the family (illness/birth of sibling, etc), and their temperment.

Hi,
When is the best time to teach young child to go to the toilet?

The one we did worked great for a while. My husband had gotten sick such that he was in the hospital for a week shortly after we did the training (not related to that of course) and it set our son back w/ keeping dry during the night. We started at age 2 since he had an interest. We also did some kid/parent videos and books which helped pave the way. He is now 4 and still wets a pull-up at night, even w/ stopping liquids before bed and having him go before he heads into sleep. I'm hoping he'll be fine by age 5, but I'll be discussing this w/ his pediatrician this month.

I started doing this today after reading the post and the online information with my 25month old daughter and she's had no accidents today! I'm so excited I've been trying for 3 months to get her potty trained and today she's been running right into the bathroom before she has to go.

I bought that book to download back in May. It had great rules, and I was so pumped to start potty training my son. He was 2 yrs and 2 mos at the time. We didn't "get it" in the 3 day time frame, but he did catch on pretty quick. He trained much easier than my daughter did. She is 20 months older than him, and they have about the same amount of accidents still. Like Mandy noted, it is hard trying to keep the toddler beside you all day long. Good luck.

We used the 3 day method with our 2 1/2 yr old daughter and it worked great!! We no longer have diapers and she's even waking up in the middle of the night and letting us know she need to go. As i've read in some articles, potty training is still an ongoing process even after the first few days. Our potty success is about a 90%, which is better than 100% diapers! The tips I found best were, no panties or diapers for the first few days (yep, bottomless) which lets them become more aware of when they are peeing. Fill them up with loads of liquids (using salty treats helps them drink more) which in the first few days will help them go more and you have more opportunities to go potty. Here's the link i read that helped me: http://www.babycenter.com/0_potty-traini...
Good luck and happy potty training!!

I tried it with child #3 and I didn't have great success with it. I don't think it works with all types of kids. It definitely is a good way to start though. We were doing fine when it was just one on one with her and I but once her siblings came home, the potty training went out the window. The hardest part was not doing anything but potty training during the day. We have a large house that needs lots of cleaning with 3 kids under 6 so that was hard too. Anytime I would just leave a bit to get dressed, she would have an accident so they really have to be with you at all times. So we did the 3 day method and she tells us sometimes when she has to go but I just end up putting her on the potty every hour and that works for us. She goes on the potty and then I can go about my thing with cleaning the house. I don't have to be at her side at all times. I did this with the older 2 and after 4 months of training, they were telling me when they had to go.

I did with my daughter, she was completed potty training in 5 days, I mean that I never ever have to buy more diapers for her, NEVER!!!!

I have to start with my son that is that same age now, but I'm not ready LOL, But he is already doing pretty good, today he went pee pee a lot of times, of course I have to take him, he is telling me when he is already wet or dirty.

Good luck!

I just wanted to let everyone kno that I just started the 3-day potty training method when my daughter got up from her nap around 4. Around 6, she pooped on the potty!! It could just be luck but I think its a great sign and a great start!!
