Has anyone tried 3 day potty training? There is an e-book out there but I am wary about spending $24.00. My son is 3 1/2 and has to be potty trained by August when school starts and we are expecting our second in October. I am at my wits end!

Yes, I definitely recommend it! I used it on my son when he was 2 years 2 months old. After 3 days we were well on our way! After one week he was trained (daytime). Good luck! Consistency is definitely the key.

I was so lucky. My mom potty trained 2/3 kids. She does not live with me so the 3rd is at creche & I'm relying on the teachers to help me with the last one.

What worked for me with my three year old ( keep in mind i trained him when he turned two) was what my doctor told me works. For a few days i worked with im in peein an poopin in the poty an makin sure he know that he could go in there. The I just let him run around all day without paints while we were home, an i kept his potty where he could get to easily when he had to go. When we would go anywhere i'd do big boy paints on him an 9 out of 10 times he wouldn't have an accident. Then when he was used to the potty an didn't have any accidcents i slowly just moved to potty closer to the bathroom then it was in the bathroom. I got him a lil stool to stand on for the toilet and he just started going in the toilet. An everytime time he'd go i'd give him a piece of candy and it worked he was potty trained like a month after he turned two.

The trick is finding out what it is that will get him to go on the potty. For my son it was mini peanutbutter cups and mini twix for a BM. At first I used 3 M&M's per pee. Once he did that for a month I stopped rewarding for pee. My son was hard to train for the BM. Some kids use it like power ..cause they CAN! So what ever he likes most, use that. Good luck.

I was thinking about the 3 day potty training thing, But I can't afford to buy the product. I thought is was as simple as every 20 minutes putting the kid on the potty, and eventually that makes them go all the time. That's what I am going to try. I am going out of town in about 5 days and it would be nice if she was potty trained before we leave. I hate diapers. I also want her potty trained before we try for another one. That way I have a break to stock up on diapers. lol.

I purchased the book 2 years ago and am using it for the second time. It worked okay for me the first time, but wonderful for me this time. She is my baby though and it has been a week and every 20 minutes the first 3 days worked now she tells me when she has to go , and most of the time we make it. The thing I did different was this time I have no diapers or pull ups in the house to fall back on and it is working much better for both of us. I think as parents we are busy and we tend to put a diaper on when we don't have time for an accident an din turn we confuse our children. Good luck to you and congrats on the baby!

try asking him every 20 minutes if he has to go.... and make sure he is on at least every 45 min to 1 hour..... my son will be 4 in 2 weeks and still fighting to get him to use it half the time but for the past few days we haven't been home and so i keep asking him and success so far. Good luck and congrats on the baby

For those of you interested, I just created a new community on Circle of Moms called 3 Day Potty Training by Lora Jensen for those of us that have used/are using/plan on using this method for potty training. I was reading that there were some ladies wishing there was a forum for asking questions, etc. and I thought it would be helpful to create a community just for this purpose. Hope you will all join!

Hi Sherrey, Yes I bought it and love the program, I'm on day three and it's working for my daughter who is 2.5 years old. She had no interest in the potty and is going now. There are accidents and it's a lot of work, but so worth it.

I haven't heard of it my suggestion would be to ask your dr for tips late potty training could be due to his fear of the new baby coming and losing his place he may associate the diapers with being the baby, a position he feels like he may be losing. encourage him and show him he will always be your baby even if you have more babies. btw a fun trick in potty training boys is the fruit loop game float a fruit loop in the potty and see if he can sink it when he stands up to pee. as a mom I love this game because it teaches them to hit the potty and not the floor
