More advice please!!!! I'm having the same issue with my 3 year old boy. He knows what the potty is and how to do it.. He has even tried wiping his own bottom when daddy didn't get there fast enough. But he will only do it when he want's if he is playing forget it. I've tried letting him run around in underwear but he just pee's in them. I've tried rewards and he even know he doesn't get any candy until he goes potty in the "potty". And will tell anyone that proudly! PLEASE any help!! I'm pulling my hair out and I don't want to resort to time outs or anything like that.. Potty is suppose to be a good thing!!!!!

Can you go into more detail? What is he having problems with? Is he interested in potty training? Boys can be really hard because they have to WANT to do it. When I potty trained my son, he ran around naked all day long, only had a diaper at night. He had a couple accidents but learned quickly to go potty in the toilet. You should make it fun, give him rewards. Once he's at the point where he knows when he needs to go and can hold it then get rid of diapers completely (no training pants either). Once he has underwear on, he'll find out quickly that it is NOT a diaper and then you'll have a little boy that is potty trained. My oldest son was trained 2 weeks before he turned 3. I'm currently working on my 2nd son who turned 2 in May.
