Any tips on how to potty train a two an a half year old boy?

The last day of diapers for my son. He was just a little over 3 years old and we had taken a trip to Wal-mart to do some shopping and i didnt bring any diapers.. We were standing in line at Customer Service line and we my husband and I started to smell something bad.. We realized that he had pooped in his diaper and kept saying that he wanted to be changed, well just to say he had to sit in it till we got home and he hated every minute of it. When we got home I flat out told him ok if you dont like the feeling on your bottem then were putting underwear on you. That day forward he has never had an accident during the day or even during nap time, yes we still put a diaper on him for night time but we ask him not to pee in it if he can and gets up as needed.

I've just potty trained my 2 year old son istarted by letting him sit on potty fully clothed then gradually got him to use potty with treats. I used pull ups to begin with but he kept weeing in them soon as I put them on, so I tried him with pants and when he learned he got wet everytime he weed he would tell me he wanted potty. Alot of changing him but it was worth it. Now he fully potty trained both day and night. He uses toilet no problem.It took me about 3 months.
