Difficult to potty train four year old

So I am completely frustrated with my 4 1/2 year old right now. she is bright and intelligent and creative, but for some reason cannot get a handle on pooping in the potty! Four or five times a day I am changing her undies. she tells me that she knows when she has to go, she knows where she's supposed to go, but still I find it in her underwear. She was difficult to train to pee on the toilet, but this is ridiculous. I feel like she is missing out on so much. Any advice, please. I am willing to do what it takes to get her fully potty trained. Thanks so much!

Since she is older, maybe have her clean her undies and herself instead of you doing it.
