I am potty training my toddler and I have found with pull ups she tends to just wee in the nappy where as if I put her in knickers she asks to go on the potty? Has anyone else found that knickers were a more effective way of potty training??

There is really no difference between pullups and nappies except pullups pull up and others don't! It's so rediculous how companies try to make a hundred different products that are really the same. I have found so far that even if i use knickers my daughter will still wee in them as she thinks as long as there is something on her bottom it is ok to go to the toilet. She has to be completly in the nude for her to take notice of her bladder habbits etc.

Thanks people, yes the knickers is definately the best way I think. My daughters been out of nappies in the day now for a week and bit and in knickers and she loves it, she congratulates herself everytime she uses her potty. Im still using nappies for night and if I go on long shopping trips as tryed to not use nappies in the park and I think she was far to excited to be playing and was telling me she needed a wee after actually doign it lol. But shes doing great so far with just the knickers x

I am potty training my 3 year old and I have realized what everyone else has said. She treats the pull ups like diapers and doesn't care if she wets them. I am now using just underwear and finding them to be alot more effective in getting her to realize she needs to use the potty when she has to go. I still keep a few pulls ups around for over night and if I know we are going out shopping and I am not sure we can make it to a bathroom in time.

I have tried pull ups with no headway being made...i was debating on going straight to undies to get him trained before my husband comes back home in a month and this has convinced me that i should. i love seeing how others have succeed with this method:)

Yep pull-ups are just fancy nappies as far as I am concerned!! My son is doing far better in undies and material training pants then he ever did in pull ups! He needed to feel the uncomfy feeling of being wet and dirty for him to realise it was better to use the potty.

oh yes. for my son the pull ups were treated just like nappies. we couldnt convince him otherwise, we tried telling him they were special pants and he shouldnt wee them cause they had the wiggles on them and that he should when he needs to go just pull them down and use the potty, but i think that because they felt like nappies he just went like he normally would. we went and bought real wiggles and thomas the tank engine jockies for him and it worked he had 2 or 3 accidents but is using the potty like a pro. still having a nappy for bed but i can handle that. nappies sooo expensive.

in my opinion, i potty trained two year olds in a daycare setting, undies work faster, and pull-ups feel just like diapers, so they treat them like it.

with my 2 older ones there dad and stepmom used pull ups and it seems to work fine they ask to go to the bathroom when it is time to go pottor and now they dont use it only when they are sleeping.

yup i would say knickers aswell as i think the kids think pull ups are just like nappies ,

my 2 kiddies aged 2 n 4 went straight from nappies to knickers n i think they felt alot more independant with undies on

I would say knickers.... after they wet themselves a couple of times they start realizing they need to learn to HOLD the PEE =-) Ive done it with all my kids I have 5 works every time.... of course at night I do the night diapers thing.
