Does anyone have tips for potty training a 4 year old boy that refuses/does not care to potty train? My son will be 4 in 2 months and has showed no interest in using the potty. I have introduced him multiple times and he still goes and hides when he poops. He cries everytime we make him sit on the potty although we can get him to pee sporatically. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My good friend dealt with the same issue. One thing that worked for her was getting two separate reward bags. One with smaller prizes and one with bigger prizes. He got to pick a smaller prize for going pee in the toilet and a bigger prize for going poop in the toilet. Every kid has a currency. You just need to find it. good luck.

Try putting in targets. I know it sounds weird but if you put fruit loops or cheerios in the bowl and tell him to pee on them he may find it fun. You can also buy potty targets. My son was the same way. But one day when we were renovating my brothers house and the bathroom wasn't even started to be rebuilt my son had to pee and my dad took him outside to pee in the bush from that point on he stood to pee and never needed pulls up again. He even started to poop without me asking him. Also a reward like their fav candy, ie mms or smarties are good too. When he tries he gets one. When he pees he gets two and poop could be three. Or what ever you want to try using the potty is big deal so make it one. Dance around and scream and yell clap your hand when he does it. I did it in public and people joined in. My son thought it was great to see mom act crazy.

I would try putting him on the potty every 45 minutes and just use underwear no more diapers and no pull ups. That will get him used to going.
