Getting my 17 month old son to potty train?

I tried sitting my son on the potty chair and he thinks it is all a game he gets on and off of it a keeps closing the lid and opening it back up like a toy! He has no interest in going on it! He went once in it at about 15 months old but I think it was an accident thing because he hasn't went on it since! They say boys are harder to train but I don't want to look at it that way! Any advice?

He may be trying to reacclamate to the potty seat or he just doesn't want to use the small potty chair. You may try for a child chair that sits right ontop of the big potty and see how he sits on that. My son is 14 months and I'll start with him soon, I just got my daughter potty trained it took me about 6months so hopefully I can get my boy trained by 2years. Good Luck!!
