I have been trying to potty train my 3 1/2 yr old son and I am having a rough time. He will go pee-pee most of the time, but we have yet to do the #2!!! I have tried everything I can think of to get him to go. i have tried putting him on the potty when I think he has to go, I have tried telling him I was dissapointed in him that he didnt go like a big boy on the potty. I have tried bribing and rewarding. I even made up a reward box that has toys in it!!! I let him pick out his underware (which somedays he refuses to wear). We even made a potty chart, and everytime he goes he gets to put on a sticker. I dont know what else to do. He will be 4 in October and I really really dont want him still in pullups!!! I will take any advice I can get PLEASE HELP!!!!

Take him out of pullups all together. Underwear or bust! I'm probably going to start that with my daughter next month.

I read either a post or a story about extreme potty training. A woman had twins (?), boys, and was tired of the enormous diaper bill every month. She decided it was underwear or bust. She and her nanny had the boys outsided in the buff, but they didn't recognize when they had accidents. The next day, she had them in undies and took them to the potty every ten minutes, which they decided was too often. So they went to twenty minutes for a few days, then thirty minutes, then every hour. By the end of three weeks, both were potty trained with the exception of a few accidents. They were even going number two in the potty!

It was extreme potty training, but it worked. You just have to be 100% committed. Decide to do it, then just do it. Underwear or bust. and nobody wants to bust. He already has undies, maybe get another potty, and go for it.

If he has his own potty, put it in a room he is often in rather than making him go to the bathroom to do his business. This way it'll be easier and will discourage accidents. You could also get a second one to place in another room so he will have three pottys to choose from, that is assuming you only have one bathroom. But put him in his underwear, and be ready to do a lot of laundry, and just go for it.

It's gonna be hard, and he's gonna have accidents, but he'll eventually get it.

Good luck to both of you. and may your sanity be intact at the end.
