Ok, well how old is he first off? Then I can only say this, my son turned 3 and I put him in undies he's used the potty ever since. Don't get me wrong sometimes there are accidents, but we just get a fresh pair of pants and undies and he's ready to go again :)

Turn it into a game.

I potty trained 3 by floating Cheerios in the toilet and encouraging 'target practice'

works like a charm with boys.

Depending how small he is, he may need a steppie to stand on.

Good luck!

*p.s. don't let him go camping with his Uncle until he's got the toilet down, otherwise you might find him just dropping trouser at will and watering the bushes and trees like I did ;)

We went thru that w/ my son. We bought him a little, interactive toilet. It was a waste of money. He liked sitting on it but wouldn't do his business in it. lol So we bought a toilet insert, that didn't work. He wanted to use the real thing. The rule was that while he was at home, he had to wear his underware. It took a whole family effort, a lot of praise (cuz he's a lil man! lol) and encouragement . Everyone was taking him to the bathroom. He caught on after a few weeks. He doesn't like to sit down anymore, he crawls onto the rim and balances on his knees over the toilet and lets loose. lol That was interesting but it worked. However, my son is refusing to poo in the toilet. We have no idea why. We've been encouraging him but for some reason it scares him. It's odd. Good luck!

Hello, I have a 2.5 yr old lil boy. That is in potty training now. I had trouble too but its been almost 2 weeks now and he is doing it great. I stayed asking him about every five minutes. I was teaching him to sit down but my boyfriend stepped in and he likes to think he does it like a big man standing up. So either way may work. Some sugguest putting cheerios in the toilet and telling him to hit I never tryed that but it was my next one. But after everytime he does go to the bathroom I give him a penny for his piggy bank and $1 if he does the other.. I wouldn't suggest any kind of candy because they taking advantage of it.. Hope everything turns out well for you cause it is hard..

My son did that too at first, when he was a lil over two I started keeping unerwear on him while we were at home and he started going in the toilet. Then once he had that down I did the same thing when we left the house and then once he had that down I did it at night. But at night I had him stop drinking 2 hours before he went to bed and I woke him up twice in the middle of the night to have him go to the bathroom
