well. my mom tought me a nice trick and it worked untill i got all lazy and thought my 11 could wait. but anyways, we started when she was about 9 or so. i got her the simplest potty so not to distract her. everytime i HEAR of feel her doing it in her diaper i would run fast and take her diaper off and put her on the potty and make pushing sounds ( like poopin sounds lol ) it take a little time but after a while everytime she wanna poop she would make pooping or pushing sounds with her mounth and i'de run again and puther on the potty. i hope it works. goodluck.

my daughter was actually using both potties for a while...the big one and her little one :o) no idea why...but i figured as long as she's going...then great...just keep taking her and eventually it'll click...can't force them...you can be very insitent...but that's about it...at least w/mine...she's so stubborn!!! :o) good luck!

i started my daughter when she was between 18 mos. and 24 mos...i just started by buying a potty and showing her and i had a few days where i gave her alot to drink and basically sat her on it every 20 min. or so...so she got the point...sometimes she didn't want to sit so i didn't make her...she's still not 100% but it's mostly because she doesn't think about or she just doesn't want to stop what she's doing to go...maybe that helps? good luck!

The experts say not to start until they show an interest in it. There are books and dvd's that would be good to get. I know Elmo has a dvd, and there are tons of books. I've heard if you get a potty chair to let them get used to it will help to. Let them get used to sitting on it now before you start the training. Anyhoo, just a few ideas. Good luck! We haven't started with our 2yr old yet because she hasn't showed and interest, but I'm ready to get it over with, lol!!
