I have 3 daughters. My oldest was simple because she was alone. However, my second dauhter is 2 and interested in using the potty, but it seems like she has to use the potty everytime i nurse her baby sister. how can i help my midde child to learn to use the potty (and get out of the oh so expensive diapers) and be more independent??

I really have no idea but from reading this it almost appears she does that to get your attention back onto her, it's an excuse, because my son would tell me he had to pee the moment he would go sit in time-out. The best advice I can give is to take your 2 year old to the potty before your nurse the baby and explain to her that she needs to try and go now because you need to nurse baby sister and you can't help her until you are done, if she tries but doesn't go, or just doesn't even want to try, then tell her she is going to have to hold it until you are done and then you would love to help her.
