I know she is ready, she's 2 and everytime i sit her on the toilet she just sits there and stairs down but she wont actually go pee or poo! but right after she will go pee in her panties and say "oh no mom!"....how do i break the ice of actually getting her to pee in the toilet for the first time so i can make a big deal out of it!?!?!?

I am currently potty training my triplets--two of whom are girls. First, take her with you every time YOU go potty or any other female in the house. (ex: we have two older sisters) Sit her on the potty and then arrange yourself so she can see whats going on. Sometimes the simple "power of suggestion" will trigger her own little water works enough for her to get the idea of what it feels like and then you get to praise her like you want to! Turning on the faucet to a little trickle can help. Try singing songs or reading a story book while she sits to encourage her to linger on the pot a little longer. Best of luck!

The daycare i took my daughter to set her on the potty every 30-45 minutes...and every time she used (actually doing something) she got a sticker. It takes a bit to get it into a routine but it works...once she starts to go potty when you take her (about 2-3 weeks of going every 30-45 minutes) up the time to waiting an hour before she goes and etc. my daughter is 2 1/2 and goes every hour to hour and a half.

See if you can find the book called, "toilet training in less than a day" by Drs. Azrin and Foxx. It has you and your child "train a doll and then your child is to copy after the doll in potty training. It also sugests you give them lots of there favorite drinks and salty snacks to aide in training. And you make a list of all their favorite people and cartoon characters and you praise them on by telling them Cinderella or Dora etc. goes pee/poop in the potty and they will be glad if you do too. You also do pants inspections every 15 or 30 minutes and if they are dry you give them a small treat. If they have an accident you take them through a drill of going quickly from various rooms of the house to the potty and they pull down their pants, sit on potty for a brief second, get back up, pull up undies, and go through this drill 10 times if possible. The book though will probably explain all this better than I did, but this was the best I could come up with for now. So I advise you to get the book or see if you can check it out from your local library. Good Luck!
