My son is 16 months old, and he keeps grabbing at his diaper when it is wet. Should i start potty training him now???or is it simply just a stage that will pass...

Hi Chelsey - my son was doing the same thing around 16 months - he would either grab the diaper he was wearing or he would go and get a new diaper and the wipes. After a week or so of this, I was convinced he was ready to start potty-training and I went and bought him a trainer potty and right around that same time he stopped 'telling' us. He's 18 months (tomorrow) - so I'm inclined to say it's a phase. Of course, it doesn't hurt to try... every child is different and are ready at different times.

We just have him sit on his little potty each night before bath and just the other night he finally peed in it and we made a big deal. I think we're going to keep it very low pressure for the next few months and really start the training when he's a little closer to 2.

Good luck!
