I can say that I have just recently joined the mothers of potty trained toddlers! The road is long that is for sure. I had the potty topper for the toilet and the biggest box of pull ups two weeks before she turned two just so I was ready when her birthday came. She's now 2 years and 9 months and has been potty trained for nearly 2 months now. She went back and forth the first few months and out of necessity she had to go a day without a diaper...just panties and that was all it took. Probably about 5 months after originally starting the training. She wouldn't take it seriously at all unless she was wearing undies. I ended up going and buying her the portable style all in one potty and took it EVERYWHERE with us. More than once did we pull off the road in the middle of a random neighborhood and pull that potty out for her to use. Before I knew it we went from me asking her every 30 minutes or so if she needed to go to her telling me when she needed to go.
I did have a little bit of problems getting her to start going in there on her own and not needing Mommy to lift her up and put her on her potty seat but now she goes without even telling me. I think in the last month she's had maybe 3 accidents and I think only night time accidents. Oh and to begin we used the potty chart, just a piece of paper I dressed up with her name and let her put a sticker on each time she went, she loved it, for about a week then she moved on to temporary tattoos. Which I got over real quick, she looked like a biker! Lol! Good luck and keep your head up. You can look up videos on it to, we found one that was a young kid telling a story about learning and she LOVED it! I know they also make character ones so maybe just try and find one that has someone she likes.

I put my son on the potty every half an hour. Its helped a little bit but he still has that same problem. He just pees on the floor (I let him run around naked so he gets used to having on no diaper). But I'm still in the process of getting my son to potty train as well.
