Get rid of the diapers completely and just use undies. Every time he has an accident, take him to his potty to remind him that is where potty goes. I used bare bum with my daughter and it worked like a charm. Once you get rid of the diapers, do not bring them back. It is very confusing.

This is what I've been doing with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. We went shopping and I let her pick out her own big girl underwear, and then she picked out stickers. Initially I gave her a sticker just for sitting on the potty. I decided that I would just put her in her new underwear. At first she didn't get it, she would start peeing and then go sit on the potty, apparently I forgot to tell her to take her underwear off because she'd pee through her underwear.

When she wet her underwear I just changed her and reminded her that if she kept peeing in them we'd have to put a diaper back on. It's only been 2 days but she seems to have gotten it, the only problem I've encountered is car rides because she knows when she has to pedants tells us but I can't always stop right away so she gets mad when she has to pee in her diaper.
