My 3 year old son will not let me pull his pants down to sit on the potty. He always says no when I ask him if he has to go. Even when he is obviously making a poopie. He knows he will get a treat if he goes in the potty and he knows where pee and poopie should go. I keep thinking that I am pushing too much but then again I also think that I am not consistant enough either. I didn't start hard core till he turned 3 since he showed no intrest in the potty before then. He just started ask me to change him when he has a dirty diaper. I guess that is a start. Any suggestions to move this process along?

My daughter used to scream, kick and freak out when I would go to change her when she pooped in her diaper!!! I thought something was really wrong...it wasn't long after that she began taking it off herself, YAY...not!!! Anyway, soon she became more and more interrested about going on the potty...but still hadn't actually gone!!! About 2 months later she just decided it was time and went pee on the potty...1 week to the day later she pooped on the potty!!! She has done both on there ever since this was back in May of this year!!! I don't know what to say to you except be patient...he will go in his own time, all children develope differently!!! Besides, a child behaviour specialist told me that there is a nerve in the brain that has to develope completely before a child can truly be ready to potty train...it tells them when they need to go!!!! Good luck and don't get too discouraged...it WILL happen when HE is ready!!! Leslie B.

i gave my lil one a sticker to put on chart then said to her you do wee wee ect on pot pot and you can put another sticker on the chart she seemed to go for it. another thing i was told to do and worked was to sit her on potty with bubbles to blow as they cant blow bubbles and hold them selfes

I haven't gone to the sticker chart yet since he doesn't do anything on the potty just yet. I thought it would be confusing to give him a sticker for not doing #1 or #2. He does love stickers. I will have to figure out how I can reward him just for trying. Thanks for the suggestions!

I will have to tell people who say "he's not potty trained yet" what the child behavior specialist told you! LOL. I know I need to be patient but it is always nice to be reminded. Thanks Leslie!

sit him on the potty with bubbles to blow he cant blow bubbles and hold himselve.. and use sticker chart as a sweet only lasts the time it takes to eat then gone but he can always see sticker chart, wait till he get ten then give him sweet or trip to park ect..
