My almost 4 year old wants nothing to do with the potty! Please help?

Try the bare bottomed approach and have her run around without the panties. You might be less inclined to pee then.

Get rid of the pull-ups! They're too much like diapers. Have her help you throw away all of her pull-ups and make her throw them in the garbage. Or, if you'd prefer to give them to someone else and not just throw them away you can tell her that a different little girl needs them now and have her help you box them up and take them to the car or mailbox so she can see that they're going to be leaving. Then take her to the store so she can pick out her favorite pack of underwear. I agree with having her help clean up her messes. Just don't give up! Try not to get frustrated if she isn't catching on or you have lots of messes at first. Stay positive! Don't let her see you say anything negative or act negative in any way because then she might be getting the impressive that pottying in general is negative. You could also try to get her older siblings to help and encourage her too. Good luck!

Her potty is readily available to her in both the upstairs and downstairs bathroom. She knows where it is and knows how to use it. I would say we've been trying off and on for almost a year now and still nothing. I will try your suggestion! Thanks

She is old enough to help you clean up the mess, have her take off her wet undies, clothes and get herself re dressed. Once it becomes her responsibility to clean it up, maybe she will want to stay dry. Also, is her potty readily available? How long have you been trying to train her?

We have used panties almost everytime and if she pees in them and they are won't she acts like it's no big deal to her. She doesn't even tell me. We try and try and try. Sometimes we even take her to the potty every 10-15 min and still nothing!

Use underwear instead, tell her she has to be a big girl and use the potty. She will find when she pees in them, she is wet and wont like it. you could also try bare bottomed. Do night/nap training too. That way she cant just hold it until she gets a pull up. Good luck!
