I have 2 kids, a daughter who is 3 years old and a son who is 2. They will not potty train what so ever. My daughter is scared to be flushed down the toilet and she will not sit on the potty. I have tried reading a book with her, singing in the bathroom, playing a game, all of this to detract her and yet nothing has worked so far, and as soon as she is off the toilet or the potty and i put a pull up on her, 5 min later she does it in the pull up. I am lost of ideals at the moment. And well my son wont do it either cause he sees his sister in pull ups and he wants to do the same as her.
Can someone give advice on what i should be doing or what i am doing wrong that i can change this situation before she starts pre-school in September

Haha! I agree with Laura... no pull-ups, let them be naked so they can see whats going on. Also, treats caused tantrums with my daughter (now 4) so we put a sticker on the potty each time it was used.

I let my boy go without underpants for a couple days. I have heard mixed reviews on this but it seemed to help him realize to hold it and he could easily sit on the potty when he wanted. Obviously, you need to be vigilant while a child is bare bottom in the house! Next, we went straight to underware with frequent trips to the bathroom initiated by me. He could have cared less about being wet or poopy in pull ups, but he wouldn't even walk if he was wet in underpants he was so uncomfortable with it. You may want to try a potty chair... even better, let them pick it out. I also had no personal hang ups with food rewards; he adores M &Ms; I adore not having to wash out underware. We will wean out the treat soon enough. I actually used M& M's as a lure to get him to sit on the potty long for BM's at first... we worked on our colors too :)

I would forget the pull ups and just go straight to underwear. that is what I did for my two year old boy. Pull ups are just like diapers. It will take a few days but it does work. Good luck.

I was just gonna try to go straight to underwear's and pick up the messes and hopefully they will get uncomfortable enough to want to go to the potty.

I'm having the same problems with my daughter, same age. She's not scared but refuses to sit on the potty and just wants to be changed. It's SO frustrating! When the weather gets nicer, I think I will take her outside w/out undies or pull-up for awhile.
