My son cannot be potty trained! what do i do???????

My son is a very good 3 yr old boy but he will not poop in the potty! He will pee but that is it and I am afraid if I punish him he will be scared to poop and become constipated! He poops but it is either in a diaper or on his bedroom floor! (hense the punishment part of it) any suggestions???

Move the potty to his bedroom where he goes now. After sucess you can move back to BR

try setting him on the big potty and just keep trying till the urge for him to poop is there it took a while for my son but we set him on his potty on and off throughout the day and eventually it has begun to work he will still have accidents periodically but not near as often also you may want to try and give him a book to look at while he is on the potty to help him to understand what he is supposed to do there it seemed to work for my son and he has done great just a thought hope it works for you as it has for me .
