i am trying to toilet train my three year old son at the moment as well. we had a potty from when his brother (who is only 18 months oldr than him) was toilet training but my younger son refused to use it. we had a big talk with him about how big boys dont wear nappies (diapers) only babies do and his response was he was not a baby anymore so we took him shopping and brought him a potty just for him. he went on it once then didnt want to use it anymore. we fixed this by leeting him sit on it in the lounge room with his favourite cartoon on and no nappy. we let him sit on it for a while an about 10 minutes later he got up and said look i did it and sure enough he had done a wee. we are slowly moving his potty out of the lounge room and back into the toilet. he now wears jocks when we are at home or at my parents but when we go shopping its nappy on just in case. the jocks during the day dont last very long some days when it seems like one accident after another but it is getting better. jut keep plenty of jocks on hand (he has like 15 to 20 pairs of jocks). i dont know if this will help but it seems to be working for us. it is a matter of presevering and if he has an accident in his jocks saying its alright maybe next time you might make it to the potty(toilet)
